College World Series - Finalized!
As the Super-Regionals unfold, we'll be filling out the lineup for the CWS.
North Carolina is the first SR winner, beating Stetson 7-4 on Friday and 7-5 today to clinch a trip to Omaha. This is the Tar Heel's fourth trip to the CWS in the past 10 years, and 10th overall, but the Heels have not yet won the national title.
Oregon State sweeps Minnesota to return to Omaha. OST won back to back national titles in 2006 and 2007.
Washington defeats CS - Fullerton in game three to advance to their first CWS!
Mississippi State beats Vanderbilt in extra innings to advance to CWS! This is MSST's 10th CWS, they were runners-up five years ago.
Texas earns a trip to the CWS by beating Tennessee Tech, 5-2. Texas is one of the true baseball blue bloods, with 6 national championships. Tennessee Tech's great seasons ends, they won 53 games this year, the most in the country.
Texas Tech knocks off Duke to make the CWS. Fourth trip this decade.
Arkansas beats South Carolina to make their 9th CWS . Arkansas was national runner up in 1979.
Florida, the defending national champs, beat Auburn to return to the CWS.

Thus depriving copy editors at newspapers and websites the opportunity for hat-related headlines. "Hat Trick", "Hat Dance", "Hat's Entertainment".
Though I guess "Mad Hatters" and "All Hat, No Cattle" are still in play.

One SR won't be decided until Monday: Auburn beats Florida 3-2 to force a decisive game three.

Cal State Fullerton is usually as fundamentally sound as they come. They take great pride in fielding the ball. They committed 8 errors in this series. And to Washington's credit, Huskies took advantage.
First time since 2013, no Big West team in Omaha.

No doubt. Take each position and CSF should have won. But the biggest issues in games 1 & 3 were not only that they committed the errors but they came in compounding clusters which made UW's taking advantage of them not only easier, but more productive.

RE: College World Series - congratulations North Carolina!
Four teams have advanced to the CWS, but four other SRs are undecided and decisive game threes will be played today, all times EST:
Auburn at Florida (8 PM)
Tennessee Tech at Texas (1 PM)
Duke at Texas Tech (4 PM)
South Carolina at Arkansas (7 PM)
The SEC will advance two more teams to the CWS today, while the ACC has a chance to add a second team, and it's a big day for the Big 12, as they could end up with two teams in the CWS or none at all, while Tennessee Tech could ring the bell for the Ohio Valley Conference.

Why wasn't Fullerton the home team in Game 3? They were the host/higher seed.

As "gaucho" said, in an SR game three, they flip a coin for batting order.
I think this is because ideally, an SR would be played at a neutral site, like an NCAA hoops tournament game, but for practical reasons that can't be done, so they simulate neutrality as much as they can even though the games are played at the location of the higher seed.

ECU was clearly one of the most disappointing regional teams this season. I thought the table was set for you guys to advance to at least a super regional and that you were good enough to do it.
