haha, I like a good laugh. And the AAC is a full on comedy show, especially about TV contracts 03-lmfao.

BTW Shouldn't you be ordering your fake imitation Championship ring from China?

Damn, you're also super defensive about this. You ok brah?

You're on a CUSA board yet created an entire thread to use a 1 year result to "ding" the AAC. It's fascinating as someone who peeks over here once every 3 months to see that you're still hung up on the AAC.

Here's hoping something else in your life fills this obsessive void.

Ten thousand posts and you are telling someone they have an obsession they need to fill? Sounds like projection to me...

I always enjoy when others type something that instantly comes back to bite them.

Take a look at the "joined" dates for me and you. I joined 15 years ago; you joined 2 years ago.

Ok, still with me? Ok- do you know what an Average is? We're about to do some averaging. Stay with me here.

15 years with roughly 10,000 posts is roughly 667 posts per year.

2,933 posts over 2 years averages to 1,466 posts per year. For you.

This means that on average, you post on these forums 119% more than me in a given year. Which would lend itself to the idea that you're far more obsessed over here than me.

Ooooo how I love when numbers and facts are used. 03-shhhh

Your post just proves my point - one who has devoted 10,000 posts to a message board (that's definitely more time spent than 3,000, if I understand numbers correctly), one who is responding several times in a CUSA board, and the way you've typed out your response - desperately attempting to insult and/or offend me (didn't work, sorry), simply is not the one who should be trying to point out an obsession by someone else. Thus, projection. Sorry that you have to try to resort to insults to get your message across, it paints a picture for the type of person you are. I sincerely wish you luck in your future endeavors.

Why is noone on the AAC board talking about the revenue decline? Serious question.

They did. It's not particularly complicated or newsworthy. Houston got the access bowl in 2015-2016. The Mac got the access bid in 2016-2017. Accordingly the payout to the AAC declined by the $4 million attributable to the access bowl. The payout for UCF's access bowl appearance will be reflected in a revenue increase for the AAC in the current year.

There was a two page thread on it. I think more wasn't made b/c it's dated - though the most recent tax data available. According to Forbes, the MAC got $4m for the access bowl in 2016. The year before the AAC got that $4m and they got it again the year after this report. So, that one data point accounts for everything but $800k.

The article also mentions a bump in 2017-2018 due to the WSU addition. The Memphis pres. mentioned a one time bump when WSU joined. He said Memphis media got a $4m (one time) payment due to WSU but $ typically range between $2.3-2.6 (assuming this includes $2m from AAC and the rest from third tier deals and Learfield). All of this was made public when they decided to fire Tubby and hire Penny based on financial decisions.

Another example is the often cited USAToday financial database. While useful, it's good as long as taken for what it is...a snapshot of a school for a particular time period which may or may not reflect current status. For example, the most recent 2015-2016 numbers show Memphis with 10m in tix sales and contributions each (top G5). However, everyone knows those numbers tanked under Tubby and are now on the comeback with Penny and fball doing so well. So, while the 2016-2017 and 2017-2018 numbers will show decreases, it would be incorrect to use them as a base for the current state of the program.

Every year the P5 conference revenues increase,
the PAC-12 had 63% increase

Not so with the G5 conferences, think about it

You said "every year" and referenced the Pac 12's bogus 63% increase.

It was 4% last year.

I simply used hard facts and statistics to prove your comment (which was an insult attempt, btw) totally wrong. If you perceive my post as an insult, it's only because you've become extremely defensive and have realized that you are in fact the more obsessed poster on these forums.

Let this be a teaching moment- in the future, if you're going to attempt insults, at least assure that things like raw numbers don't destroy that insult almost instantly.

The revenue decline is simple to understand. The year before Houston was in ACCESS BOWL, the following year ( the year in question) the Mac was in it. They got access bowl money and AAC did not. The next years #s will be with AAC(UCF) getting that money and the Mac will get a decrease and AAC will get an increase.

RE: AAC Revenue Declines for 2016-17
I don't know why AttackCoog is trying to push that narrative, it so inaccurate.

Where is the proof that the Sunbelt qudrupled their deal and on top of that the Sunbelt now has to foot their on production costs on ESPN+. So they were getting peanuts before and still getting peanuts considering they have to produce their on content.

The CUSA deal was cut by 80% in 2016 so what if it doubled now, lol. Especially now that we have to shoulder the cost of producing content on ESPN+. Paenuts before and Peanuts now.

The big winner in all of this is ESPN, basically free programming that they can charge for. Hell of a deal for ESPN not for G5 conferneces

AttackCoog:
"By the way---the last 4 sports deals signed (all in the last 3 months) were all doubles to quadruples in terms of value growth (Sunbelt +4X, CUSA +2X, UFC +2X, and WWF +3X). Its worth noting that CUSA doubled revenue is just 2 years (last deal was in 2016)."

It was a serious question. I honestly don't know what CUSA's revenue is and was curious. Nothing more, nothing less. If y'all don't know, that is fine, I was just curious.

I don't either, no figures have been announced neither has the Sunbelt. Just "an increase"

What does that mean? I see it as slight increase considering that the last deal was cut by more than 80% in 2016. But considerable more productions costs especially on the ESPN+. So all things being equal probably about the same Net Amount as last deal
