RE: MWC vs AAC
I think the AAC is generally superior to the MWC, but both conferences are pygmies compared to the “P-5” and both conferences are in mortal danger of eventual irrelevancy (in football at least).

Actually, if you go back to CUSA 1.0 circa late 1990s/early 2000s, we almost always won the Liberty bowl match up of CUSA/MWC champs. I think the record was 5-2. And that was when Utah and BYU were members.

The American is very similar to CUSA 1.0 with 6 common members.

The American is the better...If the BIG12 does not poach any AAC schools they have a shot to build the brand and have a NY6 Bowl the in by 2025

AAC is so much better its not even close. MWC is closer to MAC or CUSA than they are AAC.

RE: MWC vs AAC
We should just go for the kill and poach Boise State. We do that... there is a clear distinction between the AAC and everyone else. End the debate, and basically just lock up the NY6 game as essentially an auto-bid for the AAC. Not to mention... it would increase the value of the conference a ton just before renegotiating a new TV deal.

Go for the kill shot and end it...

Problem is Boise State is slipping and you're left with the Boise market if they start sucking and traveling issues. Pass

The BCS going away really hurt them b/c they were cracking the Top 10 regularly in that system. They’ve already started to bounce back though. If we could land them, and leverage a deal worth $10mil/yr... that would be big for their program with the added resources.

Get them on board... and it’s a killshot to the other G4 while giving us max leverage for a TV deal. And their brand addition would really help push the P6 narrative and perception. Worth it...

The eastern schools are all for adding them knowing they will never have to travel there

MWC vs AAC
If the AAC landed Boise and BYU that would add to your narrative. I think Boise might buy in now. The bonus for the rest of MWC is they don’t have to deal with BYU’s drama anymore.

Another way to look at the AAC is its like CUSA 2.0 after cutting dead wood and adding 3 BCS programs in UC, USF, UConn.

The MWC lost its big 3 in BYU, TCU and Utah then added 6 call ups from the WAC. They look a lot more like CUSA 3.0 where they added a ton of Sun Belt teams these days. San Jose St, Utah St and Nevada were never supposed to be in the MWC.

How come no one bothers to mention that TCU was in CUSA 1.0 with many of the schools that are currently in the AAC, long before TCU was ever in the MWC? In fact TCU only joined the MWC, because the BE raided CUSA and took Louisville.

That and they were butthurt from the beat down Southern Miss put on them during their BCS buster run.

Need? No. But it certainly would add a lot of value. With the AAC's success... they may think again about making the jump but with less leverage to make all types of demands.

They're all alone in a conference that pays them $2.8mil/yr. We're poised for a TV deal that would be 2x-4x more...

Boise adds nothing but travel costs.

You're out of your mind. They are the biggest and strongest brand in the G5...

RE: MWC vs AAC
adding boise is a huge waste. They aren't going to add enough $$$ to our tv contract to overcome the ridiculous travel costs for all sports programs. Boise has peaked, they may have some good years again, but if its in our conference it'll be at the expense of current teams. We're much better off without them, unless you are suggesting we kick out a few teams first.

If we are just straight up adding them no way they add enough tv revenue to cover their own share. The boise pipe dream is long gone.
