Deangelo car
My daughter just asked if she could have my Deangelo Williams replica NASCAR car. It's still in the box.

I asked why? She said to play with it.

Should I give it to her? She is 9 years old.

I bought it because I thought that it would have some value, but it doesn't.

Keep it in the box for now. Never know what the future will hold. Buy her a toy car to play with.

I bet if you asked Deangelo, he would say let your daughter play with it.

Yes, deny your daughter. Then sell her to slave traders. Might as well get rid of such a nuisance....

I would give her the car.

If it's not worth anything to YOU outside of what you could sell it for --- hell, give it to her. Same for any other piece of sports memorabilia.

Mine sits on shelf in my office by (among other Tiger memories) my autographed Danton Barto Mad Dogs card and Issac Bruce football. Also I have a Keith Lee autographed metro Tourney program and a Rodney Carney bobble head.

I don't know what the value of this stuff is.... and my daughter and son can do whatever they want to it,

but if you're an Ole Miss fan and you touch them Ima Beat Yo Azz.

RE: Deangelo car
IMO, give her the car. The value of a plaything and the tangible sign of care toward your daughter exceeds the probable financial gain from selling it.

Happy Father’s Day. 04-cheers

Let her play with it. As others have said, the true value in the car is the joy it brings to you and your family.

RE: Deangelo car
lol Happy Father's Day.

Keep it for yourself. Guys like to collect new things in boxes.

Buy her one off ebay.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/DeAngelo-Willia...100623.m-1

Or buy 2 off ebay and play cars with her

If I were Mom, I'd take her aside and help her buy Dad another one. Teach her the joy of giving Dad something he actually likes.

RE: Deangelo car
My oldest son was 4 when we got that car. DeAngelo signed the box at 2005 Fan Day, and I put it on a shelf for a few years. When my kid grew a little older, he understood that it was a really cool piece of memorabilia, and he never wanted to open it. He's almost 17 now, and it's still in the box, sitting on the dresser in his room. I can see that being something he'll give to his kid someday. Not worth much of anything but sentimental value.

So I think whether you keep it as it is, or let your kids/grandkids play with it, it's already served its purpose.

RE: Deangelo car
I know a dude who has all the original star wars/empire action figures (out of box). Been saving them to maybe one day sell. His 4 year old loves star wars. So he wondered if he should "let" his kids enjoy playing with the action figures or keep them away as memorabilia.

He realized kid fun >>>> than letting something sit on a shelf.

The car will never get more than $40 on the market, so unless $40 means paying a utility bill, let the kid play.
