These numbers make zero sense. UCLA almost twice as much as Michigan? South Carolina ahead of Kentucky? NCSU ahead of Ohio State? Florida zero? Some of this has to do with when contracts were signed. Some of it probably has to do with schools wanting to make their own payments to their coaches look smaller by having the apparel manufacturer pay more to the coaches and pay less to the school. There may be other factors at play here that we don't know. In any case, these numbers are so bonkers I don't think you can read anything into them.

Something is definitely missing. I have no doubts that Nike's total package for UNC is more than NCSU's Adidas package. It just depends on how the money is distributed.

Louisville signed a deal with Adidas last year for $160m over 10 years. $79m of which is cash. That is $7.9m/year not the $1.5m noted in the OP.

Yeah, I never know how much of this is the result of a recent boom in these contracts, or how much is in other goods and services than cash.

I remember vaguely that FSU's deal included all kinds of brand development and management services I think. I don't particularly love that stuff, between the uniform changes and the logo change etc, but I seem to recall a lot of that stuff that goes into "branding" is picked up by Nike. I have no idea what that's worth in terms of a cash value, what a school would otherwise pay for such services.

No idea what Cuse gets...but they get elite unis for hoops. They fall in the low to mid 30's for CLC.

Yeah. Those Louisville uniforms/helmets were AWFUL. (The NC State gear wasn't too bad, IMHO).

What Wolfman and GT Fletch both say in these quotes is correct. The numbers in the report are correct and the numbers in the new going-forward contract are correct.

For a school that doesn't move the needle, Cincinnati has a great contract with Under Armour.
