UN: Venezuelan security forces have killed hundreds
https://www.bbc.com/news/world-latin-america-44575599

Quote:Venezuelan security forces have carried out hundreds of arbitrary killings under the guise of fighting crime, the UN says in a new report.

The UN's human rights body says it has credible accounts of security forces raiding poor neighbourhoods and killing young men, often in their homes.

The rule of law was "virtually absent" in the country, UN human rights chief Zeid Ra'ad Al Hussein said.

Quote:The UN says the alleged extra-judicial killings were carried out by officers involved with the Operations for the Liberation of the People, ostensibly a crime reduction initiative.

These officers may have killed more than 500 people between July 2015 and March 2017 as a way to showcase crime reduction results, the UN says. They are alleged to have staged evidence to make it look like the victims died in an exchange of fire.

The officers involved have immunity from prosecution and no one has been held accountable.

Quote:UN investigators have been denied access to Venezuela - a current member of the UN Human Rights Council - and made their findings from interviews with witnesses and victims.

Some of the other evidence comes from former attorney general Luisa Ortega. She was fired by Mr Maduro last year and went into exile.

Earlier this week the US quit the UN Human Rights Council, having previously criticised the body for failing to act against Venezuela.

Come on Dunk, that's not fair. Think of the get-out-the-vote results a group like Operations for the Liberation of the People could generate. Would bring a tear to the Magic Man's eye.

To be precise, Bernie is not actually quoted saying those specific words anywhere that I can find. He posted an article saying that to his senate website. I don't see much difference between saying them and endorsing them in that manner. Either way, they clearly express his thoughts. But just in case the linky police attack.

For all the Chihuahua-brained liberal barkers out there, this is what a real dictatorship looks like.

In the end (every time), the only way they can keep their countrymen participating is at the end of a gun barrel.

...........I guess the problem is they're still not doing it right?

This is not possible. Tom was just in Venezuela and has assured me that it is a haven of prosperity and much better than most of the United States.

That's why the Libturds want a Venezuelan type government so that they can get rid of all the conservatives in the US. You see how they operate, ahem, antifa for instance.
