Meh...doubt it. Burned? Possibly. Most pumps today have a safety valve that will shut off the flow if there is a catastrophic failure.

She was probably in more danger of dying from hitting one of the brick columns more square than the one she glanced off of.

True, but this is the 'sip so I'm not sure if they've developed that technology yet.
