Considering the cost of integrating East Germany into West the cost the South Korean economy is going to be astronomical.
But, that isn't our consideration but theres.
Do you think the Chinese would prefer a unified Korea that looks like South Korea or looks more like China?
Will Kim Jong Un be the Supreme Leader or would it be the democratically elected Moon Jae-in?
The answer to your first question is obvious IMHO. If the Chinese were afraid of N. Korea looking like S. Korea, we wouldn't be having this conversation today......unless the whole thing is a giant ruse to get the West to step into a trap.
Sorry Mensa, but I think your hopes of a world-wide nuclear war to blame on Trump are fading, and fast.
Don't know the answer to your second question but I would lean towards a democratically-elected government eventually with western guarantees for Kim's saftety......perhaps some power-sharing agreement as well.

While there have been plenty of positive signs over the last few months including the obvious, the summit itself, this particular story is more signficant than many may realize.
Kim could have easily left the anti-American posters in-place while negotiations continue behind the scenes and no one on the "outside world" would thought anything negative about it.
That he's obviously preparing his own people for a different narrative means to me that he believes the negotiations will be successful and that significant changes are on the way.
that's XACLY! what fat boy is doing.....

Think about it stink.
By removing the posters and issuing instructions to N. Korea's media to dramatically change their tone and stories about America, who is being pressured in the end? It's Kim himself, no?
If the whole thing falls through, sure, Kim can always blame the evil Americans. But then in the eyes of his people that would make him look like a fool, and weak, for having fallen for American treachery.
