Rice adds 3 late transfers for 2018 season

We've mentioned one of these players already in a different thread but the UCLA transfer came in out of the blue for most of the fans. We have two newly announced graduate transfers (Andrew Mike from the University of Florida and Giovanni Gentosi of UCLA), and then a juco LB transfer out of California (Blaze Alldredge) with three years of eligibility remaining who are all eligible to play the 2018 season.
Mike is a 6-6/300 pound OL. He's a big guy obviously - was originally a 3-star recruit, but never really played much for Florida except for special teams. Gentosi is probably the impact player out of those three - he was UCLA's starting fullback for half of last year and is 6-2/250. Alldredge could also be an instant starter on defense and is 6-2/210.
I'm impressed how hard our new head coach is working on the recruiting area. It wouldn't shock me if we get a traditional transfer or two either for the 2019 season because it does seem like kids want to play for Mike Bloomgren. We now have graduate transfers from Vanderbilt, Florida and UCLA for the 2018 season who could all be starters, so Rice may still surprise a bit this season. Most Rice fans are still only expecting 4 or 5 wins at most due to a tough non-conference schedule and our overall youth in general, but still this press release is good news.
