Democratic Party Woes going into the 2018 Midterms
It appears that what was observed between Clinton and Sanders is real, and that there is going to be a battle between Centrists and Progressives within the party.

This part in particular is laughable.

Quote:Wisconsin Rep. Mark Pocan, who introduced legislation Thursday to terminate ICE and establish a commission to implement a more humane immigration enforcement system, said liberal policies reflect what he is hearing from his constituents.

“People out in the country, not inside the Beltway, understand there’s a problem with the way the agency’s operating,” he said.

Republicans, who failed last month to pass immigration legislation despite weeks of negotiations, are thrilled to have a Democratic-instigated debate about abolishing ICE.

“It’s the craziest position I’ve ever seen,” House Speaker Paul Ryan (R., Wis.) told reporters Thursday. “They’re tripping over themselves to move too far to the left. They’re out of the mainstream of America. And that’s one of the reasons why I feel very good about this fall.”

House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R., Calif.) said Thursday he planned to bring Mr. Pocan’s bill to abolish ICE to the House floor for a vote before the August recess.

But Mr. Pocan and two other Democratic co-sponsors accused Republicans of a political stunt to embarrass them and said they would welcome a debate on immigration policy but planned to vote against their own bill.

On Thursday night the Hispanic Caucus voted to oppose the bill and all House Democrats are expected to vote against it, a Democratic leadership aide said Friday.

Just to be clear - 1) 3 slapass publicity whores introduce a bill to abolish ICE, 2) GOP plans to have a vote on the bill in August and 3) The co-sponsors of the bill accuse the GOP of "pulling a stunt" to embarrass them. JFC...wasn't the fact that they introduced a bill they had zero intentions of supporting A POLITICAL STUNT???

What a fvcking mess the Dems became. They basically sold blue collar workers out over a decade ago to play identity politics in lieu of truly being advocates for the little guy. Newsflash to the Dem leadership: Minorities ALSO LIKE to have good paying jobs in order to live the American Dream and take care of their own families...

Even Paul Ryan is laughing at it. Think about that for a second.

That's almost as stupid as a prosecutor indicting someone he never expects to show up in court, and then when they do, telling the judge the case is too complex to move forward rapidly.

Not that any proseuctor would ever do such a stupid thing.
