It would probably require all three major sports (Baseball, Football, and Basketball) popularity to completely collapse in this country for our best athletes to ever consider Soccer as a career. American Exceptionalism on full display in our sports.

I agree. The money would have to be equivalent for that to ever happen.

Messi, Ronaldo and Neymar currently rank #2, 3 and 5 among the world's highest paid athletes (Floyd Mayweather is #1 and Conor McGregor is #5). Lebron is #6.

True, but it's the domestic league that matters, at least with kids in the US and $$$. If MLS paid like Europe, IMO, lots of US kids would choose/stick with soccer, etc.

It's not going to be unless we start allowing kids to sign contracts at early ages. The best will always go to Europe.

The majority of the USA Mens National Team plays abroad. MLS needs better TV ratings so they renegotiate TV deals. But it is like Chicken vs Egg thing. More people watch Liga Mexico in the USA than even EPL, phucking illegals.

Money isn't that much of a factor. For example, baseball players make more than football players, especially over the course of their whole careers. But football gets the best athletes.

I'd watch Championship or even League 1 over MLS. It's garbage.
