How is Waco hard to reach? It's a short bus ride away from Dallas and to a lesser extent, Austin and Houston.

That’s the problem with Waco, the bus.

That's the problem with a ton of places like, say, Tuscaloosa. Waco is within two hours or so of a major international airport. That's better than many, if not most, of college football destinations.

Things like that are true of any company you might work at, or any sports team for that matter. The company's most productive employees and the team's best players can get away with a heckuva lot more than any random employee or player on the team. The smart ones among the random employees figure that out and realize they can't break every rule that the superstars might break.

Baylor is the only P-5 college shirt I don't have. I need 10 more P-5 hats. So I say it's safe to buy it.

I have a few G-5 Fresno, Hawaii, UNLV, Colorado St., Cincinnati, USF

If you send it I'll wear it. I'm size small. I have UCI, I visited there in March, UCSC, wife went there. I only got Hawaii because it was the old UH w Rainbow logo.

Yes, when he was coaching the Cowboys, Jimmy Johnson once said that the notion that a coach should treat all players 'equally' is silly. He said if a productive player like Emmitt Smith fumbles, he might slap him on the ass as he comes to the sidelines and remind him not to do it next time, whereas if a marginal player fumbles he has very little leeway and could get put on waivers the next day.

The Big 12 depends on Texas and Oklahoma, so obviously they can get away with more.

IIRC, Waco has a regional airport with regular flights to Dallas, so you don't even need a bus if you don't want to take one.

That's an expensive flight. I'd think It'd be cheaper to just bus in and out unless you wanna fly Southwest, which is probably still expensive.

Maybe, but the flights are available, which many around here don't seem to realize. And with all the money they are making, Big 12 schools can afford it, LOL.

Anyway, 90 minutes on a cushy bus isn't a big deal either. The "travel to Waco" concerns are overblown.

What isn't overblown is the deep integrity issues that Baylor athletics has had.

Waco is 100 miles from DFW and Austin on I-35 and as you noted, its airport has flights to DFW on American. It’s no different than flying to El Paso to play at NMSU.

If the airport in Waco can handle a 737 charter the travel is not an issue in football.

They could handle Air Force One when W went to his ranch in nearby Crawford. A 737 is a walk in the park in comparison.
