This board has been a nice diversion to the echo chambers of most of our favorite teams' boards. It is good to get news and opinion from other fans from rival schools.

Thanks GTS for setting this up.

Happy Anniversary Mark!

I could have sworn that we came to this board about the same time. I remember the board changed over once years ago, and I started all over with the date of the changeover. But then I noticed that your date was July 2003. I could have sworn I started here in 2003.

Cardinal Jim, I remember the Killerfrogs board. We all used to have a lot of fun on that board until the changes.. I have wasted a lot of time and a lot of my life on these boards. Hope to see you again soon at a Cuse home game or Louisville home game.

Lana and I are planning on making that trip. It may not be for a Louisville game but we'll come and cheer for Syracuse. She wants to see a basketball game at your place.

I moved over here when College Sports Info fell apart. David St had a cousin over there that ran a lot of people out.

I don’t post much but I try to visit at least twice a week for a good read. I can’t believe I’ve been through so much realignment in the last 15 years and it looks there’ll be more in the next 15.

Cheers.

There used to be a Rice Girl who posted here a lot back around 03-06...Forgot her name. I think she was a moderator. She went to Rice for undergrad and got her Masters in Library Science at Syracuse. WOnder whatever happened to her?

Lauramac

Yup...had a brain fart. Wonder why she doesn't post anymore?

I was wondering the same thing the other day. All I know is one day she and her husband (a Rice/Georgia Tech grad that I can’t remember his name) stopped posting on the C-USA board. That was years ago. I think they lived in Atlanta and she was on Jeopardy once. Maybe they had children and posting on a sports board was not a priority anymore. I know a Tulsa fan who played basketball when Tulsa was in the WAC stopped posting once she got pregnant. She married a former Tulsa basketball player but I don’t think he was on these boards. Speaking of Tulsa fans, whatever happened to Tallgrass? He stopped posting as soon as Tulsa accepted to join the American. He really wanted Tulsa to stay in C-USA.

I remember on the C-USA board the constant fights between 1.0 and 2.0 fans. The constant pimping of C-USA fans on the Big East board and the endless expansion threads which caused the creation of the realignment board. On the MWC board, the constant reminder for UTEP, Hawaii and Fresno fans of being left behind in the WAC and dismissing Boise fans as pretenders and paper tigers. And all the craziness of the 2010-13 realignment. Those were the days.

I found this board back in 2010 when the relocation derby cranked up. Lots of awesome people on here. Shared lots of good times (and on line services, beating those regional offerings ...lol). Best wishes GTS. Great job. Are our school stickers still on the servers you installed a few years ago?04-cheers

Thanks GTS!

TexanMark, were you on the old Grassy boards back in the 1990s?

Those were the first modern conference boards I found back when the internet was the world wide web. I remember asking Grassy to start the first CUSA board.

I read this and thought - "wow. That's incredible. 15 years. I wonder how long I have been on this forum? Can't be too long. I bet it was 2012 or 13."

Just checked.

Feb of 2005.

13 years.

WTF have I done with my life??

Anyway ... I do enjoy the board. Had NO idea I have been here that long.

Tallgrass passed away about 3-4 years ago. He was a good dude who loved arguing little points.

I wasn't on the grassy board (I might have made a few posts but that was it) but I did post on Killer Frogs back in the day...like 15-17 years ago. I think that is how I found this board.

Been 7 years for me. Joined up during the whole SEC expansion craze and have been hooked since. I’ve learned more about North Dakota and Idaho than I ever thought I’d care to know. Unlike most boards, this one is NOT SEC/Big Ten dominated, which is refreshing and keep me coming back

I joined when Tulane joined the AAC. Reason being it was the first time that Tulane also showed a legitimate effort in sports (I know they lose a lot, but this used to be SO MUCH WORSE than now).

I remember when Tulane was used as a scapegoat by the C7 as the reason why they decided to leave the Big East. Tulane was an all sports invite while East Carolina was a football only invite. The way I remember, Tulane had the academics to satisfy the C7 even if basketball was bad but they didn’t want ECU basketball hence the football only invite. I felt bad for Tulane fans because you guys didn’t deserve all that crap you got from C7 fans.

RE: Happy 15th Anniversary
I've been registered here since January 2016, but have lurked for a long time before that. I followed the collegesportsinfo board for a long time before that. There are a lot of crazy scenarios posted here. However, there is a lot of quality discussion here, as well.

I find alignments, associations, and demographics very interesting. To me, college athletics is more than competition, but is representative of the culture of a university, state, and region. The last round of P5 realignment blew a lot of holes in that.

I'm a lifelong fan of a school that helped put the P in P5. I graduated from a former NAIA/now DII school. I find alignments and realignment fascinating at all levels.

There is great discussion here. There is fiction, and there is fact. This is a great place to hang out while we wait for the B12 grant of rights and the next round of TV contracts to expire.

RE: Happy 15th Anniversary
Overall this is the best college sports board on the net. We have mostly light hearted discussions about our team, your team and everyone else's team. I have made some good friends here. Some I have met, some I may never have the pleasure of meeting. The one element I like best about the whole CSNBBS site in general is its not all homer fans pumping up their programs. You can be critical and disagree and people respect your opinion.

It's amazing what you learn here. You learn quickly who is close to a situation and who is just full of crap. I remember the lawsuit on the MAC Board ( be careful what you post) and the loss of great fans like Gray Avenger. (RIP Ronnie)

Here's to many more years of debate to celebrate.

Any idea what kind of shape collegesportsinfo is in these days? It was pretty bad about 2 years ago when I left and came over here
