RE: USF Football OCS Study
It’s wild to read the mentality that they have in that thread. It’s hard to wrap my head around. I mean, listen, I hate USF... but it’s in a love/hate kinda way. I love to hate them. I love our rivalry. I want them to be great and us battle, I want us both to one day be in a Power Conference (whether that be P5 or P6) and ratchet up our rivalry to a Texas-Oklahoma/Michigan-OSU level. Our rivalry is natural, it’s real. At least it is to me...

Reading this though... they hate us but not in the rival sense. They want nothing to do with us, and are insulted to be associated with us. I don’t get that? Who do they think/want their rivalry to be with?

RE: USF Football OCS Study
This is what I don't get. The OBE, as I remember, was never in the BCS championship game. So the OBE only played in a NY6 type game and was at best, a 50 - 50 winner. And we all complained that the other bowl games were weak and uninteresting.
So now we play in a conference that has produced 3 NY6 winners in the last 5 years. The media viewership rivals the old league in football.
The conference next contract should be $8 to $13M. How can you not draw at least 30,000 - 40,000 fans with a championship caliber team?

Lol "hey guys look at what this one USF fan said on a USF board!"
Why are you even looking on that board?

...it’s 23 pages full of that stuff by a lot of fans. Most in that thread hate the AAC and blame the AAC for their fanbase’s apathy.

Their uneducated (about sports) fan base blames a conf (AAC) that they have never even won a divisional title, let alone a conf title?

Can't fix stupid.

Thats the point...they never really had a fan base for THEIR team. (Some did show up to see their opposition play).

Play in an off-campus stadium that can't even draw 4,000 students to most games during your "best season", one shouldn't be surprised that almost none of them are buying season tix once they graduate.

You can't have without building....usf forgot the "building" part.

We almost sold out with season tickets alone this season.

Went 0-12 and still had better attendance than USF. Pack it up and move to FCS.07-coffee3

If they can't pay for a fancy stadium now, what will change in 10 years? Meanwhile UCF can upgrade our stadium and if it is full looks fine.

USF can’t afford a 10 million dollar stadium. They don’t have the money for an FCS stadium. I bet USF drops their FB program within the next 10 years. There simply isn’t enough fan interest. Between Florida, Florida St and the Bucs...pointless to even continue this charade. Last year’s crowds were humiliating, and the tv viewers saw it. A ranked team that draws flies. USF is a good school that fills a need for commuting students in the Tampa area: No need for a football team.

P.S: Not trolling. I honestly believe USF will drop fb in the next 10 years because they won’t be able to afford the rents to play in RJS.

USF can build a 50k stadium inside your mom's snatch.

Where are you going to find the 49,500 fans to fill it? As an aac fan it’s ridiculous you aren’t building a stadium. As a UCF fan, I hope you never get one.

I think he assumes that 49,500 fans came in her snatch, I would.

They were born on 3rd base and now disappointed with singles and doubles.

WVU was in pole position before losing a rivalry game in 2007. Yes, we never had one in the NC but they were ready to put any team who went undefeated or had just one loss in there most of the time.

1. When USF started their football program they refused to play UCF.

2. UCF was considered the leader to join the Big East in the early 2000's because our football program was more established than USF. But in that timeframe UCF hadn't gotten really serious about football (much less basketball). USF was selected for the Big East basically because they had a decent basketball arena and some mild basketball success while UCF had the equivalent of a large high school basketball gym.

3. USF then thought they were "too good" to bother with playing "lowly" UCF and only agreed to play the Knights in a 4-game series to lower their CUSA buyout. With the advantage of the BCS tag, USF was able to beat UCF in those four games.

4. USF continued to denigrate UCF...thinking that they were going to develop a rivalry with the Miami Hurricanes instead. You can see that the trademark USF arrogance developed very early in their life.

5. UCF began to have football success, winning some CUSA championships. At the same time we started to notice how USF would start well, then tank at the end of the season, so we started trolling them about their late season meltdowns.

6. UCF built our on campus stadium, which USF mockingly calls an "erector set," which BTW is pretty much what all college stadiums started out as prior to the 1990's. UCF attendance surged while USF attendance started falling off.

6. While UCF continued to get better, USF was getting noticeably worse. At one time they were paying three head coaches in the same year...the current coach and two fired coaches. UCF continued trolling.

7. In our first year in the same conference, UCF went 11-1 and won the Fiesta Bowl. The trolling got stronger.

8. While UCF's attendance would fluctuate between 33,000 and 39,000 most games (except 2015), USF was getting embarrassed by announcing crowds of 25,000 - 35,000 even when only 18,000 - 24,000 were actually going through the turnstiles. Of course, we had to troll them about that.

9. After winning 3 of the first 5 AAC conference championships (one shared) and winning the Peach Bowl, a majority of USF fans still think they are "too good" to be associated with "lowly" UCF as is evidenced by the thread on The Bulls Pen where a majority are ready to jump off of a bridge at the horror of being stuck in the AAC. Meanwhile, their trophy case is still EMPTY.

one year in a BCS conference and UCF won a BCS bowl. USF spent all those years feeling superior instead of capitalizing on their good luck (that's all it was).
