Here it is...released a few hours ago.
Can't say there's a whole lot of stuff that they talk about that is that surprising if I'm honest.

I hate OSU with a burning passion.. but 90% of that stuff seems like motivation/team building/character building.. nothing out of line..
this dude is saying Meyer questioning his effort with "I thought you wanted to get your mom outta the hood" is over the line? Maybe I overestimated what is appropriate.. bc to me that would have pushed me to succeed and prove him wrong..
The prolonged injury coverup/ignoring is VERY common among football players/coaches though.. that SHOULD never be ignored..
but unless there is more.. that video is such a nothingburger I am still starving..

Believe what you want, but like I said in an earlier post, very few of his players, outside Tim Tebow, likes the dude.
It's only motivational in the sense that Urban was telling the players that you either produce or I'm getting rid of you because you are expendable.
Have you ever met/seen Meyer in person? There's nothing redeeming about the guy. The saddest part is the local media, both in Gainesville and Columbus, has covered for the guy because he is (was?) a successful football coach.
Meyer is a arrogant hypocrit. Re-read his rant on the corruptness of college sports.
This quote will haunt him: “I always believed if you willfully and intentionally broke the rule or you lie to the NCAA, you can never coach again."

I think Meyer is done but not because he broke any rules or ever lied to the NCAA. I think covering for this guy was unethical and has crushed his credibility to the point he can no longer coach college men.
You know the pulse of the SEC better than anyone on this board. I'm curios. What have you heard about Meyer during his days in Florida and your thoughts on him?

Under Title IX and the terms of his contract, Meyer is required to report instances like this. Also, he lied at the Big Ten Media Day (not necessarily the NCAA, but close enough) about knowing anything about the incident.

I disagree. There's a massive difference between lying to the authorities and the media. I think Urban has to be fired but I don't see any NCAA penalty for him.

I am separating him as a person, from the stuff on the video.. I think this video shows next to nothing about how "terrible he is".. Workouts to failure is very common, and injuries do happen, but the fact that they named the event tells me that type/level of injury is rare.. nearly every single time you see a video about some guy breaking a new lifting record, or a RB benching 500+ lbs is on a "to failure" workout.. That stuff is just as much a mental workout as a physical one, and call me old school but that isn't near the issue as wife beating, throwing things at players, or REALLY saying things that are over the line, not just reminding people of their motivation when they seem to just be going thru the reps..
I have not met him, but again one of my best friends happens to be in his family, and I know enough from how he acts around family(sending everyone signed copies of Sports Illustrated Covers as Christmas gifts etc.) to know the guy thinks he is the absolute best. I think the players not liking him, and his pompous holier than thou attitude, and constant bragging about knowing EVERYTHING and micromanaging his football team is why he will not be able to claim he had no idea..

What a shat show. Urb says he followed reporting "protocols" for domestic abuse incident after denying he new anything in 2015. Good luck AD Gene Smith sorting through this web...
Quote:Heat ratchets up as Urban Meyer, Zach Smith try to pass the buck in confounding media tour
Gene Smith, your move?
Actually, the respected Ohio State athletic director has our sympathy after a confusing, confounding media tour put on late Friday by his coach and a former assistant.
You thought paid administrative leave was bad? Or an ugly divorce with allegations of abuse? Smith now has to sift through a growing scandal that has become metastatic.
Disgraced former wide receivers coach Zach Smith asked us to believe the neck of his ex-wife ran right into his hands.
"Defensive action [by me]," he labeled the bruises and battering as depicted in Facebook photos posted by college football reporter Brett McMurphy on behalf of Zach's ex-wife Courtney.
At about the same time, Gene Smith's disgraced coach, Urban Meyer, released a statement saying he followed "proper reporting protocols" regarding a 2015 domestic incident involving Zach Smith and Courtney. That was in direct conflict to what he told reporters 10 days ago at the 2018 Big Ten Media Days.
"There was nothing," Meyer said that day of Zach Smith's alleged battering of Courtney from three years ago.
Meyer didn't stop there. He went on to disparage the actual reporting of the incident by McMurphy. "I don't know who creates a story like that," Meyer said.
For the record, that's going from "nothing" to I-did-everything-by-the-book-and-reported-whatever-there-was-to-report-to-my-boss in a span of just over a week.
One quick question: What exactly is proper protocol?
One quicker question: By saying that, did Meyer just throw his AD under the bus suggesting his boss somehow didn't act properly?
Urban just put out another clarification statement. Whoever is doing PR up at OSU is doing a terrible job. Well aside from not releasing the report until after the press conference so an unapologetic Meyer wouldn't look completely out of touch when challenged about details in the report.

This is lack of institutional control bar none. Do you notice that AD Smith has been.....absently quiet? Urb can't stand to be wrong or told no. I read an article where one of the BOT resigned because he felt Meyer got off too lightly. The dude has been enabled far too long. The only justice for this penalty-lite is if they blow 2 of the first 3 games and the CFP is in the rear view mirror.

"The Playoff Committee is only determining which 4 teams are the best at the conclusion of the regular season, not the early season when a team is missing staff or players due to outside circumstances."
- The CFP Committee, probably, when they choose an OSU team that started their season 1-2 in your scenario.

Rules for thee, not for me...
Very true but with 2 early losses it would take a lot of help from other teams with better resumes above them and it would pretty much mean running the table in the B1G including the championship game. You also have to wonder how the committee would feel privately about Urban's suspension and his obvious arrogance "all else being equal." There's no way some of the tarnish doesn't seep in on some level. Lots of games to be played yet...
They could lose the TCU game but they're not losing 2 of the 3 games he misses. With the strength of that division any team that wins the B10 through the east at 11-2 is going to the playoffs.
