Cost Of Attendance:New Arms Race In FCS
James Madison U. and William & Mary Adding FCOA Starting In Fall 2019

We might be seeing a split at the FCS level as the top programs in both football and basketball are separating the haves and have nots in the lower D. James Madison and William & Mary are giving out more for FCOA than Virginia and Virginia Tech. They seemed to be at the FBS level of spending with the FCOAs. Delaware is already at the FBS level of spending. Richmond is looking at raising theirs. VCU is already at $4100 which is like FBS level of spending. (Hoping VCU decides to add football and women's sports.) In 2015, Delaware, JMU and W&M Presidents signed a letter against FCOAs. Now, after seeing how it worked in the top teir, they seemed to changed their minds. All these schools mentioned here all seemed to be rumor of expansion candidates for the FBS. Several of them do have the money to make the move to FBS. NDSU also added FCOAs back in 2015. They are at the level of spending for FCOAs with Virginia and Virginia Tech.

Where do you think some of these FCS schools be today when they have added FCOAs that are bigger than some P5 schools? There are some big names that have gone FCOAs at the FCS levels which is why that MVFC and CAA teams on the FCOAs band wagon seemed to be the tops schools that gets into the post season a lot.
