Why do y’all think plan B would make us FCS?, you say our recruiting would get worse? Why ? And where would our 2* and 3* recruits go ?, I can’t see our recruiting getting any worse I think the potential would be for our recruiting would get better, why you ask, ok
1) recruits want TV exposure
2) recruits want a path to the NFL
3) recruits don’t want to sit on the bench for a year
And many more great reasons
Plan B is closer than you think, Aresco is being quiet lately

As soon as we recognize ourselves as playing for something other than the FBS Championship. We become the new FCS. We've proven we can go toe to toe with the A5, why consider a lower goal now?

The A5 plays for their A5 champion, this is half of FBS
G5 contains the other half of FBS teams and doesn’t play for a champion

In other words, the NIT. If you go into a season knowing the best you can do is win the NIT, you lose much of your motivation.

If we split ourselves off we become (as Chappy said) the new FCS, we need to be demanding more football equality not less. If P5 wants a split that badly then like I said, tell them they are free to leave the NCAA, the basketball tournament and all of the sports that go along with it. We won't play them at all. This is a nuclear option and not something that would benefit anyone. Nobody wants what you suggest except FCS schools and the NIU AD.

Most recruits are convinced that they're good enough to start at Bama. And most go to the biggest name they get an offer from. It's kind of like how most kids want to go to the highest rated college they get into rather than finding the best fit (hence the ridiculous hoops people go to for the Harvard name instead of say Yale or Princeton or Penn). Some of them subsequently find out the hard way that they're not going to play, and then look to transfer. That is what you'd be damning us all to face. Few recruits would self select to go to a 2nd class division from the outset.

The AAC is about to collect $8M to $13M per all sports team and will join the A5 on any future split. Let the G4 go have a four team playoff among themselves. The AAC has been to 3 of 5 NY6 games and won all of them. There is scant basis for a 'plan b' for the AAC. We already have 'Plan A' media results to go along with 'Plan A' on the field results.

When will we know when the A6 campaign is totally dead ?, in a year, two years
I think it’s a good time to discuss a plan B, whatever that might be, Iam still on board with the A6, but not as much as yesterday and probably less tomorrow

Yes, 8m or 15m this is exactly what the networks want to pay, the AAC TV ratings also warrant this, it is my belief that the networks want to elevate the AAC in the public’s perception , this will help their grand plan for a g5 playoff

And yet how many teams with access have yet and will ever be in the playoffs?
In truth, there are about 15 teams who have 'access' to the 4 team playoff on a regular basis.
No G4 may ever have access with perhaps the exception of a undefeated Boise. Any future AAC team running the table will, IMO.
The argument for a 'plan b' for a G5 championship is pitiful and without merit for the AAC. Why would the AAC go backwards considering the past 5 years of success. I rather have access to the NY6 playing our peers than a G4 championship game. Even if that means a future AAC team runs the table and is still left out of the playoffs.
