Looking For A Place To Stay In Lynchburg
Looking for a place to stay in Lynchburg Friday and Saturday of ODU game. I need a campsite, or a motel that costs the same as a campsite. I’ve tried the KOA and Paradise Lake, but since it’s Labor Day they will only do three day reservations. Everything else appears beyond an hour. Me and two of my boys are driving 12 hours for the game and to see my daughter, who’s a student at LU.

There's Holiday Lake State Park in Appomattox and there's always spots in the Jefferson-Washington National Forest in Amherst and Bedford Counties, no showers though. Glasgow (about an hour from the Burg) has a hikers shower station.

RE: Looking For A Place To Stay In Lynchburg
I ended up getting a cheap motel. All the campgrounds required minimum three night stay (Labor Day Weekend) which would have been very near the same price as two nights in a cheap motel.

I hope you didn't pick anyplace in Madison Heights. Definitely stay in the LU-Wards Rd area if you can.

There is nothing wrong with Madison Heights.

Madison Heights is a fine area. Their hotels/motels, not so much.

Yep, it’s the Knights Inn Madison Heights.
It’s a low budget motel with thin walls.
I’m pretty sure the room next to me was being used to film porn videos last night.

I think I stayed there once about eight years ago. The shower drain was clogged (changed rooms afterwards) and floor was dirty but we survived a night or two.

Yeah. None of the hotels in Amherst County/Madison Heights, with the exception of Sweet Briar's hotel, are places I would allow my family to stay.
