Charlottesville/UVA Fans
Hi UVA fans and Charlottesville area residents, I am taking a train down from NYC area for the Miami-UVA game this year. What are the cool/pretty things to see? I have been to UVA's campus a few times before so I have seen a lot of the "big" attractions once or twice. Also looking for places to eat on Saturday depending on the game time. Looking forward to the visit and game (hoping for a big Canes win) - I have a nice AirBNB picked out in a little cottage, fitting for the nice vibe of the town. Any guidance would be great. Thanks!

That's leaf lookin' time of the year. The parkway, Staunton, etc., would be nice, of course you need a rental car.

Rental car is a must. Tons of historical sites in the area, and like Lumberpack mentioned it's leaf season that time of year.

I would not go to Williamsburg.

There is plenty to do and see in central VA. Charlottesville has a ton of wineries and breweries. Several presidential homes are nearby (Montpelier, Ash-Lawn Highland, Monticello). There are awesome hiking trails. King Family winery has polo matches on Sundays that are nice to tailgate.

He asked for suggestions> Just threw it out there...didn't mandate he go there. Jeez.....

There are plenty of things to do around cville without traveling 2 hours. Maybe if you were visiting Richmond or Norfolk then it'd make sense to add Williamsburg.
