You realize that the team you struggle with lost to an fcs team one week earlier right?07-coffee3

rice beat the FCS...they didnt lose. no clue what you are talking about
and that game is the reason rice had an early advantage, they got a game to figure what works for them and what doesnt...

rice hired a Stanford coach (his first ever game)...they wanted to be a power run team, struggled horribly running the ball, and the original qb struggled (they went down early)..they switched qbs, passed the ball more and won....they worked out their kinks, came prepared for houston

houston had to replace all its wr, all its rbs all under a new OC..(note our top wr hasnt played football in 3 years and top 2 rbs havent played in 2yrs..from season ending injuries) after our kinks were worked out, we scored on every drive all under a 1:30 ..(we had a muffed punt td against us)..if you dont count the muffed punt td, we finished the game on 42-10 run

That's a long way of saying "Yes, we did struggle heavily with a team that squeeked by Prairie View"

thats a long way of saying "no, rice beat prairie view"...he said rice lost to prairie view...you added your context.....

we won by 3 scores, and without a muffed punt would have been 4 scores......

that is your defintion of struggling?

TIME FOR A GLORIOUS FLASH BACK!!!!

that time in 2011 that houston "struggled with rice" rice was up 17-7 after the 1st quarter..bigger than the 17-9 this game....
..we ended up beating them by 40 and going to be 13-0 but cant deny the struggle 04-cheers

Didn't you lose the 13th game that season to Southern Miss? Not saying it wasn't a good season, but you went 12-0 -> 12-1 -> 13-1. Not 13-0

i meant to say 12-0 ..up until the usm game ..was referencing all our regular season games

I think Cincy MAY not be as good as we think right now. I say that only because I think UCLA may prove out to be a very bad team this year as Kelly tries to implement his system.

6-7 wins is mighty generous. Maybe 4-5.

Unfortunate that this is Pindell's last year tho.

i was about to say lol

Anyone putting Cincy among the top 3 teams in the league is quite mistaken... we have a long way to go. Give us 2 more years and we will be ranked and playing for AAC championships, but this year, I'll just be happy to finish in the top half of the league.

The Tubercaust was real.

Maybe you should worry more about your own team struggling with Rice.

being a fan doesnt make you more accurate...99% of the time it makes you more inaccurate as you are biased ....

The 1% is Pesik it gives him superpowers making him omniscient.

Apparently. Just ask him. 03-lmfao

Note to Pesik: Most of us are NOT basing our opinions ONLY on Week 1. As stated by someone else earlier, we are basing them on returnees in the 2 deep from last season, expectations for this season, PLUS the first game.

And nobody is saying beating an FCS team is an automatic "actually good." Sorry, bud, but nobody here is that dumb, including me. I'm simply saying that if you are favored to win the division AND you do exactly what you should do against your opponent, or even more (that was the most dominant half in Tiger history against ANY opponent, with a brand new QB and the loss of our 2 top WRs, right out of the gate), then that should be enough to say, RIGHT NOW, the Tigers are "actually good."

If they crap the bed later, then those of us who have this OPINION, will have the opportunity to change it. I have no idea why you get all bent out of shape when people disagree with your OPINION. You seem to take it personally.

I don't think we'll need two years for that. This year I don't see how we compete any titles or anything, but I absolutely believe next year's roster will be capable of making the leap.

I think this board is more hyped up about our team this year than our own fans, which is a rare feat.
