Access Bowl Top 10
I am going to try and keep this updated every week.

So after week 1, this is how I see the top 10 G5 teams for the access bowl.

1 Boise St - handled a Troy St team that will end up being a bowl eligible team
2 UCF - Beat a bad UConn team, as they should have
3 Memphis - Beat an bad FCS team in convincing fashion
4 Cincinnati - Best G5 win so far still not sold on them but they are here till they lose
5 USF - Handled their business against Elon
6 Hawaii- Manhandled a good Navy team
7 Houston - Didn't look as good as they should have against weaker comp
8 UNT - Beat a possible bowl eligible SMU
9 Toledo - Steamrolled VMI
10 Ga State - Look good against a lesser opponent

We’ll find out a lot about Toledo when Miami visits the Glass Bowl Sept 15.

Georgia State? You’re kidding. Georgia State? You’ve shot all of what little credibility you may have with that asinine ranking.

That's a.....strong reaction to disagreeing with #10 on a list where only being #1 at the end of the season means anything.

Yea, I think if youre putting a Belt school in there, you probably need to go with App.

When a team is picked third in a five team division, and then has to score late to top an FCS, the Access Top 10 probably isn't where they need to be.

Wanted to (they are the best in the Belt), but an L is an L, no matter how good they looked in losing. Too early in the season to put in a team with a loss. They will probably be in the top 10 before the season is over.

You know, I won’t even pimp my school here. Good showing against the No. 10 ranked team in the country, yeah, but we are 0-1 and most likely out of the discussion. I’ll go with Southern Miss. Georgia State barely survived against Kennesaw St. They have a history of wetting the bed against FCS opponents, so winning one ugly is a step in the right direction for them, I guess, but if you’re going to put out something to be taken seriously, do some freakin’ research, or be prepared to get called out.

30 G4 + AAC teams remain undefeated. Expect that number to drop below 20 this week.

Too early? Why? That's the same kind of warped thinking that causes the polls to be largely meaningless. Simply being "ahead in the loss column" is no reason to overrank a team at any stage of the season.

I would put App in there somewhere. If they go 12-1, that loss won't hurt them too much.

In all fairness, App really doesnt play anyone thats going to get them much attention if they win. So their path is to win out, and hope that every other candidate has 2 losses. And for PSU to be really good.

Problem for App St, is that they would need everyone in the American and the MWC to have at least 2 (maybe 3) losses before they would be in the conversation again. A 12 -1 App St would not get in over a 12-1 Boise/UCF/Memphis/Cincy. Possible wouldn't get in over a 12-2 one of them either.

UCLA is probably going to be last in PAC South, Cincy win will not look as good in a few weeks.

In no particular order, the teams in contention for the G5 NY6 slot are Cincinnati, UCF, USF, Memphis, Houston, Boise St, and Hawaii. The AAC winner is in the driver's seat until all 12 teams have a loss.

Oh, I agree with you, I'm just saying they should be somewhere on the watch list, below the AAC teams or Boise, should either of those lose 2-3 games.

Man, if Appalachian St held on and ran the table, they would’ve gotten it provided every AAC/MWC team lost. No one would’ve topped the Penn St win.
