No kidding. I'm glad they aren't finalizing the TV contract this week or we might owe them money.
Actually I think this has been a great week contract wise. UCF got 440,000 viewers on espnu, i would think that figure means a lot more to any potential bidders than a few of our also-ran teams coming up short in week one. I haven't checked but I'll betcha that some of our other games did quite well also. Ratings are the only thing that matters. The NBE has two championships yet no one is watching, they could possibly end up not only not getting a raise in their next contract they could get a market correction down. Chew on that a while. 07-coffee307-coffee307-coffee3

We'd all be crowing about a win over UCLA. kudos to Cincy. Memphis & UCF beat weak teams but there is lots of promise in those wins. Season is just starting, it will sort out over the season.

Crap, we don’t play UConn until week 12.

UCF and Memphis to me are the top dogs in the conference until proven otherwise. UC's win at UCLA was nice but I agree with others we may want to pump the brakes on the hot takes. Temple and East Carolina earned their spots in the cellar by losing to FCS teams.

I think different posters are going to have different ranking criteria. I always take the pre season ratings and slowly phase them out as we get more information from the games. My methodology is that after week 3, pre season ratings have no effect.

1) UCF
2) Memphis
3) USF
4) Houston
5) Cincy
6) Navy
7) Tulane
8) Temple
9) Tulsa
10) SMU
11) UConn
12) ECU

RE: Week 1: Rank the AAC
Is this about how good the teams are or what they've accomplished? I still think Temple will be a middle of the league team. I think it's too early to know much about UC despite a win I am thrilled with. If it's ranking by quality of team right now I think I'd go:

Tier 1
UCF

Tier 2
Memphis
USF
Houston

Tier 3
Cincinnati
Temple
Navy
Tulane

Tier 4
SMU
Tulsa
UConn

Tier 5
ECU

And is losing to an FCS team better than losing to the defending National Champs?

Temple at 6th?! Does that mean if UCONN beats URI, the Huskies will make your Top 4?

The East is going to be much harder for UCF to win than Memphis taking the West.
I'm on the Cincinnati hype, I strongly believe they will contest the East just as much as USF.
I really don't think the East is a lock for UCF at all. Both USF and Cincy can put UCF in a position where if they lose to them they lose the East. Both should be favored in almost every conference game.

I'm not only going to go by week 1 results. If Temple played Tulsa on a neutral field tomorrow I'd take Temple. If Temple played Uconn tomorrow on a neutral field I'd take Temple. I don't like to overreact to one week. I think UC had the best win...I don't think they are the best team in the conference.
