Football IQ...A5 vs G5
Reading college football boards from everywhere including here and sense the BCS and now with the formation of the A5 and G5 split I have seen so many A5 posters talk to G5 fans in a tone as if they know more everything college football !
So I ask the question:
Does a A5 college football fan have a sudden increase in football IQ knowledge because their team makes way more money than a g5 teams fan do ?

There are only about a dozen P5 teams able to make the playoffs. The middle of the pack teams just beat eachother up. Why not let the 20 or so G5 teams that are capable of competing (financially and talent wise) at that middle level get the same shot as the rest of the P5.
Money...

Where have you been all these years? It’s been going on at minimum since the creation of the BCS. The first victim was Tulane in 1998 (the first year of the BCS) being left out because of their C-USA schedule. Marshall in 1999 was the second victim. Heck, people still question BYU’s 1984 National Championship because they played nobody in the WAC.
Don’t forget the only way a nonAQ qualified at first under the BCS was if said team was ranked #6 or better. Utah in 2004 was the first school to break that barrier and because of that, the rules were eased where it was easier for a nonAQ to qualify for a BCS Bowl and we got Boise State defeating Oklahoma two years later.
Winning is the only recipe to gain respect. The only three nonAQs that earned any respect due to their consistent winning are TCU, Utah and Boise State. The first two are now in a P5 league while the last one is the media’s darling. I see UCF joining that group if they go undefeated this season.
Lastly, the P5 fans who are always dismissing the G5’s are the fans from the programs that won’t accomplish much in their conferences. The only thing they have to brag about is their conference affiliation and the welfare check they get from the networks.

Lack on national interest in G5 schools outside of each individual bubble. The middling P5 schools could easily compete with the 20 G5 schools if they relax academic standards to same level. See: Boise State.

You keep saying this. You are completely wrong. Virtually every player on the BSU roster has offers from so called P5 programs and other FBS offers. Some had Ivy League offers. BSU has never taken partial qualifiers. BSU admission standards are higher than any state school in Idaho (not that this is an exclusive bar). BSU is consistently near the top of APR in the NCAA. BSU is hardly Cal Tech, but is is a R3 national university that will be R2 in the next evaluation.

It will never happen. No G5 school will ever get chosen for the playoff in the current format or if it gets expanded to 8. They created the P5 to keep this from happening.

If the shoe fits.
We know our place and that’s where we belong. That doesn’t changes the narrative that Texas Tech is a welfare queen. It is what it is. Keep being nice to Bevo. They’re the reason you keep getting those welfare checks.

That's ironic considering how much UT-Austin gives UTEP from the PUF/AUF.

Just imagine if UT decided to drop the UT from El Paso?
