And those that drop football go where?

Fuhrer Mickey acquires outright all rights at all tiers to the ACC, SEC, and Big 12. Fuhrer Mickey then reorganizes all three conferences for maximum TV revenue. This means the SEC West plays the Big 12 a LOT more. The ACC South plays the SEC East a LOT more. And all of the broken rivalries (Pitt-WVU, Texas-TAMU, etc etc) are regained. And all of the oddball divisional alignments (Missouri, Auburn, breaking up the NC4, etc) are fixed.

RE: What’s your BOLD prediction next realignment round?
The most realistic and likely ones to me involve lacrosse and ice hockey growth and expansion. The low hanging fruit of predictions.

B1G-PAC will happen. I have to think a thirteenth game happens before CFP expansion, and this extra slot makes it easier for USC and Stanford to swallow.

Stony Brook and James Madison to MAC.

My “out there” one is another Villanova men’s basketball championship gets them some calls from the ACC. This time, it works out, and there’s a real plan to move Nova football to FBS, but the real get is Nova hoops...with Nova and Cuse, ACC takes over the Garden.

I'm surprised Der Fuhrer Mickey hasn't acquired the Big Ten & the Pac 12 Networks yet, in addition to Notre Dame football rights, from NBC. All of that, combined with what they have now, would make Fuhrer Mickey close to unstoppable, if not unstoppable.

The only thing I can (hopefully) see is that BYU and Houston go to the Big 12. Sadly I do not think that happens and I don’t think anything else will happen.

The test for Boise State would be this Saturday when they play Oklahoma State play in Stillwater on ABC. If the ratings are high? Boise State must be more valuable to der Mickey. Could see that They will try and grab the rights for Boise State as an Independent. Some G5 schools are more valuable than some P5.

Liberty isn't going to a conference anytime soon. Our schedules are way better than anything the SBC, MAC or CUSA could provide(MWC is way too far). The flexibility of being an independent seems awesome.

Glad you feel that way, since no G5 conference would add Liberty. Enjoy your "also ran" bowl tie-ins for games on CBSSN.

My prediction:

DavidSt and NoDak is right. For whatever that means.
Plus they already tried to join you. EKU is another option there anyway. I just wonder if Liberty ever got competitive enough, you guys might take them over grooming an FCS.

No conference added Liberty even when they were waving wads of cash in our faces. It’s conceivable that they could find a home in the future and they probably should over another FCS move up. Liberty fans can also claim that they want to stay independent all they want to, but the second they have a deserving team get snubbed for a bowl game, they’ll be back to looking for a conference home.

Liberty will buy a bowl game before they look for a conference home. It will cost them less money to do so. There are enough mediocre bowl games out there that will take the sponsorship dollars that Liberty University Online can throw their way with the provision that Liberty would get a bid if they qualify.

- Texas makes a deal with the ACC similar to Notre Dame's (member of all sports but football while football has a scheduling agreement)
- Oklahoma and Kansas join the SEC (Alabama and Auburn move to the East division, Missouri moves to the West Division)
- Big XII adds Houston, Cincinnati and Memphis, but is no longer considered a power conference
- AAC adds Rice.
- C-USA and Sun Belt split to form more geographically-sensible conferences. NMSU is added to the western side.
- UMass drops to FCS.

There's already a Liberty bowl so I guess Liberty would have to fall back on their secondary sponsorship title and use "the MAGA bowl," and instead of a band performing at halftime because that's sacrilege, President Trump can give a campaign speech.

MVC, Horizon, Atlantic Sun, Southern, perhaps they group together if they leave en masse.

They hitched their wagon to Temple when they moved up, and then Temple ran off back to the Big East/AAC. I don't think being an independent in this landscape is as bad as it was when they first entered that territory, but the feasibility over time is still one to question.

I am worried a little bit about Temple. Gone is the president that was for pushing the OCS. But, worse for the institution was the Fox School MBA stat "sham" where they lied about their prestige. I think, institutionally, things get a little crazy for the school on Broad, and I have to wonder if those really bad years of Temple football are back upon us...just when one thought they had turned a corner. Temple isn't likely to face the kind of vitriol they did in the Big East, and there are far worse schools in the AAC who don't show up as Temple didn't do within the Big East...I just question whether the AAC and Temple athletics on the whole are mutually viable. But, where else would they go?

Fuhrer Mickey....

That's hilarious.

Based on that, I was thinking it would be more like

Mickey of Borg..... "You will be assimilated; resistance is futile".....
