The watch word in the new CUSA will be parity. Going into the 2005 season at least 6 of the 12 teams should have a legit shot at the Liberty Bowl with three others good enough to be a spoiler.
IMHO that should be the case almost every year.

sorry thats dumb , the way i see it only 3 to 4 teams will compete for the league title evey year. USM/Memphis/Marshal/Houston & with houston being the west champ they will be getting their a$$ beat every year by the eastern champ

i think you're giving the eastern schools too much credit. which ones do you think will be able to play the role of spoiler? :D

If you have six teams, give or take, with a shot it won't always be the same six. I agree UAB will be right up there. Expect the unexpected...

I expect the west to be very competitive. Tulsa, Houston, Tulane, UTEP, Rice and SMU will each have up and down years over the course of the league and each will win the division over the first decade. The east could be competitive too, or it could be a three trick pony, Marshall, USM and UCF.

UAB winning the league is not that far fetched. They are not that far from where they need to be. This league will have so much parity you could have 5 different teams win the league over a 7 year period.

USM fan, proclaiming that Memphis will be a perennial top dog based on their one "big" season with the first bowl appearance and win over (let's face it) a Sun Belt team proves that you are an imbecile.

I don't think he's an imbecile. I believe Memphis can stay at the upper level of the CUSA East. I think he is not very perceptive in his analysis of Tulane and the future of the Wave.
