If Boise State wins at Okie State and Hawaii keeps winning and both meet at the MWC championship undefeated, the winner goes to the Access Bowl.
Those statements seem kind of contradictory.
I think if Boise wins out they get it, because they have a tougher schedule than UCF. But if UCF and Boise win out, that will be a very close and tough decision for the committee.
It would. Because at that point you would have a UCF that had won like 26 in a row. Just can't see a 26 game straight winner being kept out. Boise would also be deserving. Could this be the year 2 non autonomous teams get in? I actually hope so.

If UCF and Houston are both undefeated, both would be top 15 teams. While Boise plays a mediocre team in the MWC title game 2 top 15 teams play each other. It would be extremely hard to see the AAC champion not get it in that scenario. In a way especially if it's Houston- with 2 P5 wins in that case.

It all depends how good or bad Oklahoma State and BYU are at the end of the season. Sadly, UCF won’t get much credit for beating North Carolina and Pitt. Both Boise and UCF destroyed UConn.
My money goes to media darling Boise State.

I'm going to wait another 8-9 weeks before I entertain the idea of UH going undefeated. We looked pretty good against AU but Navy showed this weekend that they aren't to be overlooked. We still have to play Tech on the road next weekend, Navy and Memphis on the road in conference, a solid USF team later in the year. We also have to avoid losing the trap games like Tulsa, SMU, and Tulane which have given us a great deal of trouble. Going 1-0 every week and staying healthy is all I care about. Frankly it's all anyone should care about.

No team should get any kind of a rankings boost for beating UCONN by any amount. All that proved is that your coach was classless enough to run the score up on a hapless team for "appearances " sake. UCF should've still been ranked higher much higher considering that they have the longest winning streak in the nation which includes many top 25 wins.

ULaLa is also undefeated.
Big week for many of these undefeated teams. Lots of P5 tests/chances for glory:
UCF - North Carolina
Boise - Okla St
I think OK State is ranked, so that is a huge opportunity for Boise, but also they could take a loss.
UCF will garner no glory for beating a 0-2 UNC team that just got crushed by ECU.
For once I agree with you, and by that same principle I don't understand how blowing out a terrible 0fer team like UCONN should've given Boise a boost over UCF.

The other impressive thing about UCF is it's the same team. They know what they are doing. USF is good but the so much of the team is new and unproven. Experience plays a big role in college football success.

I don't know about Boise having a tougher schedule. Going by what has happened so far the only notable game Boise has left is OK State. Hawaii 3 opponents are a combined 2-4 and the rest of the mwc is meh. As I've stated "so far" heck UCF still has to play an undefeated Cincinnati with a p5 win and should've been recieving some votes, an undefeated USF with a p5 win, and possibly an undefeated Houston with a chance for its 2nd p5 win this week, not to mention Memphis that should/could be 6-1 with a p5 win over Missouri. Fortunately the cfp committee will most likely take these things into account when their poll comes out.

I agree with you mostly, but there'll never be 2 g5s making the ny6 bowls but their is literally no way that an undefeated UCF with on a 26 game winning streak that will be including possible 8-9 top 25 wins will get left out. Heck the conversation will probably be about why they're still not making the playoffs.

If both undefeated, I think both go and play each other like Boise St and TCU did several years ago.

That won't happen again because that would mean that Boise would have to finish in the top 12, and the committee
of p5 members have shown no inclination at all to lose any ny6 dollars in an attempt to be fair to any g5 team.

That's a very good point. It's possible one G5 would get the auto-bid but another could get an at-large. Especially since this year, with the Orange and Cotton hosting the playoffs, there are likely to be 3 at-large spots, and Boise and UCF are already ranked in the teens.

I don't think Houston could get past Boise. Houston's A5 wins would be over Arizona - an 0-2 team right now - and a TT team not expected to do anything.
In contrast, Oklahoma State is a ranked A5 team and likely will be ranked all season. A Boise win over them would carry a lot more weight.

I think Boise is different. They have credibility with the polls and committees because of past success. I could see them making a NY6 as an at-large even if an AAC team grabs the automatic bid.

I love how folks think 1 OOC game means everything. It's 1/13 of the schedule. If Houston is undefeated they're going to be in the top 15. IF they face UCF undefeated, they would be in the top 15. That's a HUGE game that Boise even with Oklahoma St would not be able to match.....
If the MWC is garbage, Boise could easily go 13-0 and not get in if UCF/Houston play with both being undefeated. Your conference games matter.

2 games have been played and you guys are debating who’s getting in a 13-0 Houston/UCF or a 13-0 Boise? Lol. Yeah, let’s see what happens over the next 90% of season. I bet none of these teams finish undefeated.

Since this is a two way race - Boise v AAC champ - but is the a Top 10 thread, might as well use the polls
Teams ranked
1-Boise
2-UCF
Teams in ORV both polls
3-Houston
4-USF
5-Hawaii
Teams in ORV in Coaches Poll
6-Appalachian State
7-Cincinnati
8-Memphis
9-Arkansas State
10-Thats all for the polls, so I don't know, let's pick an undefeated, say Eastern Michigan

Even talking about any of these schools running the table is dumb at this point. I think odds are better of all of them having a loss than more than one being undefeated.

What if Arkansas beats #1 Alabama? Would Colorado State's win over the Hogs makes the Rams much tougher at the end of the to help boast Boise State's case?
