Wow. If Wisconsin loses to BYU, and let's say TCU beats Ohio State... the Big Ten could be down to Penn State only by the end of the day.

19-17, Illinois beating USF halfway through the 4th. Not laughable on paper with it being Big Ten vs. AAC but given the disparity of the two programs the last few years it seems that way.

UAB 31
Tulane 24

Made laughable by the little "P6" banner that led Tulane's team onto the field. They actually ran onto the field behind a dude waving a small "P6" banner.

P6 represent!

No way ... they did not!

That said, the AAC picked up two more wins vs A5 today: USF > Illinois and Temple > Maryland.

Would have had another one with UCF if not for the hurricane

Probably, but UNC had the puncher's chance (talent) to beat you. I was looking forward to watching that one.

Also, it looked early on like Houston was going to take down Texas Tech, but Tech is mauling them now.

I know that burns the Coogs around here up, for some reason they seem to have a hair up their arse about Texas Tech more than any other school.

The last bit of good news was Boise losing to OK State. That ensures than an unbeaten AAC champ will have no rivals for the NY6 Access spot.

USF won 25-19 and had 626 yards of offense.

Miscues, penalties, and turnovers kept this a close game. USF has way more talent than Illinois. The first half was pathetic by USF.

Yes, I don't get the BTN so was following it on gamecast. In the nick of time, we finally started to convert our play by play dominance in to actual points on the scoreboard, but boy did our early and mid-game bungling make it (too) interesting.

IMO, these are the kinds of mistakes that will cost us a win versus UCF, and thus all our season goals, two months from now. Yes, the Taggart teams could be loosy-goosy too, but the last couple years they also had a certain kind of magic, a spark, that compensated for it. The Strong teams so far don't have that, they just have the talent.

But when we play teams like UCF, Houston, or Memphis, the talent is equal.

Thats not even remotely true. Former conference mate, plus Kingsbury was our OC during the Keenum era. There's a level of respect for Tech amongst our fan base that doesn't exist for say a UT or A&M. Personally aside from the fact that they just got through torching our secondary I actually kind of like Tech. I'd certainly pull for them against UT or OU. lol

Alabama 49

Ole Miss 7 .... 2nd quarter

Ole Miss actually had the lead about 24 game minutez ago.

Apparently last year's 66-3 game wasn't enough revenge for Ole Miss's 'we got their number' smack from two years ago.

It's getting a little hard to get excited for college football knowing that the other 129 teams are just there to job for Alabama. And it'll only get worse until Saban retires.

Interesting that Her by is so busy drooling over and singing the praises of OSU that he hasn't noticed that the all powerful big 10 team is losing.
