The money is going in on UVA. UVA started as a 3 1/2 point favorite and now is a 5 point favorite.

RE: Open Thread - Week 5
What shocked me most last week was the attendance for Pitt in Chapel Hill. They evidently only sold 44K tickets out of 50K, but it appeared that only 38K at the most showed up. I know seating has changed with the reduction in the stadium from 63K to 51K - but I wonder if a cultural shift is also at work in Chapel Hill where football in general is on the wane. The core of UNC's fan base is not in the Hurricane Florence area although Wilmington probably sends at least 1,000 to Kenan in normal situations. Fedora said some foolish things over the summer but I really wonder if full attendance will become a thing only at "Cow" Colleges which is another way of saying male oriented land grants, and the very few other powers than can still draw a crowd in person.

1..Hurricane Florence was definitely a factor. It didn't just affect Wilmington. Parts of New Bern, Fayetteville, and other eastern areas were impacted. Not to mention, lots of people from non-impacted areas were helping in the impacted areas.

2...It was a hot day. Those 85-90 degree days at noon hurt.

3. Fans are really itching to end the Fedora era. Hire the right coach, you'll have butts in the seats again.

The optics were certainly very bad for television. There were thousands of empty seats in the lower level between the 25 yard lines which the cameras couldn't hide. That's not where the empty seats should be. That's where season ticket holders should be sitting.

Unless Fedora can turn this thing around, the AD will have an interesting decision. 14M buyout of the head coach and assistants or fan apathy.

Vegas has GT a 4 TD favorite. That's a bold move Cotton. GT had more fumbles than first downs against Clemson.

03-banghead This is Louisville's year in the barrel, We are a 6 point dog to FSU and without 3 point home field advantage, we are a 9 point dog. We may well finish 2018 at 2-10 or 3-9. 03-puke03-puke03-puke03-puke03-puke03-puke

Miami showed well last night. UNC's bowl hopes are on life support.

Looking forward to see if Cuse can hang with Clemson on Saturday. Does a close loss get them in the Top 25?

RE: Open Thread - Week 5
Cuse @ Clemson

Just hope we can stay within 10 points on Saturday with no major injuries on either side. Clemson's FR QB (Sunshine) looks like the real deal. I think Dabo did Kelly a huge favor benching him before his 5th game. I hope he can find a good situation next year to showcase his talents. Not sure he has a spot in the NFL though as a QB.

Our WRs are not that good this year...really missing a go to guy. Custis is too erratic. Our TE being out really hurts us this week. Our OL and DL are much improved...we'll see if they can handle the best DL in FB and and one of the better OL lines out there.

However despite the results this weekend, I think we'll break through this year and get to 7-8 wins.

Maybe in the Coaches poll where Cuse is currently 28th. Not in the AP where Cuse is 36th. Too many schools to jump over.
