Power Rankings Before Week 4
A bit late in week to be starting this, but any thoughts on power ranking for conference this far. I have last weeks ratings in parathesis.

1. (1)Ohio State: Very good victory to put behind them, but trailed a good portion of the game. Not really sure yet just how good TCU is.
2. (3) Penn State: Really glad this team pulled out week 1 because think it is coming together and would hate to see a weak one slip-up be that big.
3. (2) Wisconsin: Based on results so far should be lower, but I am inclined to believe that they just did not prepare properly for BYU. This week is a huge, huge test vs. Iowa.
4. (6) Iowa: The Iowa State win a few weeks ago looks better as Oklahoma also played close for quite awhile. Don't think they'll end up quite this high, but if they win this week (and they can), watch out as they'll be the divisional favorites.
5 (4). Michigan: Took too long to put away SMU, but at least they did. Not sure what to think with Michigan totally. Think they'll probably end up higher than this, but team does have some issues.
6. (5) Michigan State: Didn't play this week.
7. (9) Minnesota: Moved up a decent bit, but more because of others looking worse than them necessarily better. They have won all their non-conference games though and that is not something several others can say.
8. (11) Indiana: Beat Ball State by a lot more than Notre Dame.
9. (7) Maryland: At their best, they beat what is looking more like a fairly decent Texas team. At their worst, they give Temple their first win of the season.
10. (8) Nebraska: First loss was hard, but showed promise. This one just seems to show it will be a long season.
11. (12) Purdue: Team could so easily be 3-0 right now.
12. (10) Northwestern: Gave Akron its first Big Ten victory over a current conference opponent since they beat Ohio State in 1894 (before the Buckeyes were even in the Big Ten).
13. (14) Illinois: Almost beat a South Florida team this week I didn't think they would stay close with.
14. (13) Rutgers: Clobbered by Kansas. Not something you say much in football. Hope they turn things around, but if not, think this year or next will be last for Ash.

Based on head to head you are right, especially at Purude. Should have switched those.

The conference looks down this season. It's a shame but it should be better next year.

I am interested in seeing what Iowa is all about. Glad Penn State gets them at home.

I understood that Maryland played higher than they should have due to strong emotions but that can only get you so far before getting exhausted. With all the turmoil, it will be hard to get up to where they would have been.

I went to the Buffalo @ Rutgers game today ... it's so hard to understand just how awful Rutgers is. Yikes.

Good job Maryland for beating Minnesota handily. Proved me wrong. Maybe your interim coach is a keeper if you don't completely clean house.
