RE: Buffalo to the AAC
I know the OP is for poops and giggles but do you guys realize that Buffalo is about as "Johnny Come Lately" as it gets? I mean, they're having a good season thus far but consider their history since joining the MAC in 1999:

72-164 (.439)
Seasons Finished .500 and above: 3 (2017, 2013, 2008)
Conference Championships: 1 (2008)
Bowl Appearances: 2 (0-2) (2013, 2008)

If I had to pick a MAC football school give me Toledo all day long based on their history of success and good head coaching tree.

RE: Buffalo to the AAC
The AAC doesn't need to add anyone. If we were to add 2 one has to be BYU.
I don't think adding anyone will increase our per team payout a penny.

Great post...except for the Toledo part 03-lmfao03-lmfao03-lmfao

Dude with the 11 posts - don't pat yourself on the back just yet. Relax and let the grown men talk. I seem to remember a game last year that Tulsa lost. Look, I'm not advocating adding anyone from the MAC...I'm simply saying that Toledo has been a better, stronger, and more consistent football program than Buffalo. They've gone to 11 bowls since 1999 and won 5 of them. They also have a good history of defeating P5 programs.

Hopefully somebody from the AAC hires Lance Leipold.

They are about the same distance from Cincy as they are from UConn and Temple, a little over 6 hours driving. I also am not sold on their ability to build a following. Personally, I'm starting to really like the idea of Army. They actually are pretty close for UConn and have a national following and that program is much better than it has been in decades now.

Army would be a spectacular addition. Now that they are back to being competetive---I wonder if they might be more receptive to an AAC invite.

Army and Air Force would be incredible adds to our conference IMO. If you add Army you really need another school to round out the conference members. How fitting to have all three service academies in the AMERICAN. That is something Aresco could really market as a unique brand.

BYU and Army only need to apply. The are the only expansion schools that move the money meter high enough to make expansion worth while.

This is the correct thought that should come from Buffalo's success.

UConn should drop Edsall and hire Leipold. He knows how to win in the frozen norths, AND he's originally a Danny White hire, so you know you're getting a vetted, quality coach.

Better get him quick before he goes to Wisconsin, Iowa, or any number of B1G / ACC teams.

So with Buffalo getting spanked by Army I guess this thread can be renamed "All The Buffalo Talk..."

If we ever lose Cincy, I could see Toledo being a replacement.

They would need to build a respectable basketball program or they wouldn't have the votes.

I'll leave that to the football schools to decide. 04-cheers

Being in the MAC(a one bid league)does not help...

Rocket basketball has been respectable over the years...
Just need to get over that proverbial hump (the NCAA’s) - going on 37 years now..03-banghead

I have nothing against Toledo. I think they would help with football, but they wouldn't come close to replacing Cincinnati Basketball. Definitely one of the top MAC athletic departments though.
