Please don't try to spin almost losing to Syracuse at home into a plus for their resume. I'm not saying that Clemson is bad but they are far from the #3 team in the country. As of right now, Stanford, OU, WVU, LSU, Auburn, and OSU all look like better teams. The ACC is extremely weak this year, if you threw UCF into it, they would be competing for the conference championship.

Clemson would boat race UCF and any other AACk program. Juat like last year UCF has proven exactly nothing. Their best win thus far is a team who lost to a team that they will beat by 4+ scores.

The ACC might be weak, Clemson isn't...they would have boat raced UCF last year and they would boat race UCF at this point.

Clemson's a little suspect. Of course yall should stomp every AAC program, least on paper, but then again yall should have stomped Syracuse today. Yalls defense is legit, the QB situation not so much. Obviously yall have a lot of talent. I think yall are a legit top 25 team but I'm not sold on yall being in the top 10. Maybe yall would beat UCF in a game maybe not. If yall played this year though, UCF would be the best team on your schedule and I think you'd be surprised by how good they actually are.

Bla bla bla

Nothing you have typed in the two responses backs up what you have said.

UCF might be good, but you aren't going to make that point by disparaging teams that have proven more thus far.

So you actually think yall deserve to be ranked #3 in the nation?

Pitt is 1-2 vs FBS competition going in to this game, including losing by 50 points to Penn State and also losing to putrid UNC, so how much credit should UCF get here?

Remember, UCF hasn't done anything to deserve being ranked #13. They haven't done any more than USF has, and USF is unranked. They haven't beaten anyone at all, they are ranked ahead of other unbeatens that have done at least as much, they are actually benefiting from last year's result.

They haven't exactly been tested by anyone they've played. They're destroying people out there.

With 130 teams, it's very hard to read into records until around Week 10 or so.

UCF trailed FAU at halftime.

Sadly, with UCF their schedule is too soft for us to k ow how good they are.

Except win. Let me know when they lose.

Let me know when you play someone.

UCF and USF are both unbeaten, but you guys are ranked 13 and we aren't despite the same accomplishments. So hard to take claims of anti UCF bias seriously.

I for one saw a team that was faced with a major blow up at the start of the week, come out flat against a good Syracuse team with a Sr. QB who can pass and throw and then lose their 2nd QB. The same team coughed up an easy score in the 4th on a turnover, yet when the game was on the line the 3rd string QB performed and Syracuse was manhandled in the last 20 minutes of the game.

Clemson might not be a top 3 team with a 3rd string QB, but they are at least a top 10 team with a 3rd string QB. I was damn impressed.

USF's best win was against GT, who lost to Pitt, who UCF just blew out. I get you don't like UCF but they've accomplished more than yall this season and had more momentum coming into this season.

Also yall are really close to being ranked so its not like yall havent been noticed at all. Another week or two and USF will probably crack the top 25 (so long as they keep winning).

They've done more to justify their #13 ranking than Clemson has to justify their #3 ranking. And they've done a lot more than USF. FAU and Pitt are better than either Georgia Tech or Illinois and they've beaten them both by significant margins. They also dominated UConn and their FCS opponent while USF struggled with a weak ECU team and looked ok against their FCS opponent. UCF is a legitimate top tier team that could challenge in the ACC, Big 12, and Pac. USF is a decent team that would probably float around the middle of the pack in each of those respective conferences.

So!!!! Boise State dominated UConn. as well.

Not the point of my post. Quo was saying that UCF hadn't done more than USF which simply isn't true. UCF has dominated all four of their opponents where as USF has squeaked by their 3 fbs opponents and looked okay against their FCS opponent.

LOL ... when you have to try to parse between the ugliness of FAU and Pitt vs Georgia Tech and Illinois, you've lost the plot.

UCF actually trailed FAU at the half, that's bad.

Bottom line is UCF has beaten 4 bad teams, so has USF, but UCF is #13 and we're not in the top 25. That's not on any kind of merit.

The problem both USF and UCF face in terms of national prospects is our schedules are really weak. There are no signature win opportunities for us. Terrible.

They were actually up 21-17, and ended up winning by 20 against one of the better teams in C-USA (Which I get doesn't mean much but I would contend that they are no worse than Illinois). I agree about the scheduling, both teams have played rather mediocre competition but while USF has been squeaking by said mediocre teams, UCF is winning all of its games convincingly. Margin of victory matters. Game control matters. The eye test matters.

At the moment? No. That's not the point though. Top 5? Most definitely. We've beat two P5 teams on the road dominated two G5's at home, and beat an undefeated P5 team with our third team QB and several other reserves.

What exactly had UCF done to prove they deserve their ranking? THAT'S the claim you made and have to prove. So far your best win is against a team that got beat by a team who got blown out by ECU.

Clemson has proven more thus far than UCF.

Clemson looks “far from the #3 team in the country” because they’re on their 4th string QB (Lawrence injured, Bryant & Hunter Johnson transferring)

They've had 4 blow outs so far this year and are on a 17 game winning streak. Clemson has had two tight games against P5 teams that IMO, a top 5 team should have handled more convincingly. They haven't lost and for that they probably do deserve a top 10 ranking but Bama, Georgia, LSU, OSU, OU, ND, Stanford, WVU, and maybe even PSU and Auburn have better resumes and look like better teams. All I'm saying is that I have a more doubt about Clemson's ranking than UCF's.

Except when Lawrence was in the game they were losing. It was said 4th string who got the job done. Regardless I just dont think the #3 team in the country should struggle against Syracuse at home. If that were Bama people would be piling on them saying they're overrated.

Mighty FAU just lost to Middle Tennessee State.

But UCF beat them convincingly!

And they past the Eye Test by beating UConn by 40, even though Boise beat them by 50 and today Cincy beat them by 40 too?

And who else did they pass the Eye Test against? South Carolina State? LMAO!
