What now
Is the run over?
Will we regroup?
Is it impossible for Memphis basketball and football to be good at the same time?

memphis fans are stubborn but i gave plenty of warnings in the offseason

1) i have never seen a offense struggle in spring that has ended up dominant in fall....despite being maliciously attacked by memphis fans, i tried to point this out in the offseason

2) "We return everything but qb" i remember pointing out in pass heavy offense the biggest and deciding factor of the team is qb..it doesnt matter what you return, it is how is the qb....
literally the exact same roster, went 16-1 in keenum last games as starter, that exact same team went 2-7 when he was injured (everything else the same)

power running teams are the are the type of teams that feel very little effects from rotating players

with that said, the key is simply finding a new qb or developing the one you currently have to play better

RE: What now
I kept thinking that Memphis needs to make a qb change just to try and mix something up. Didn't realize there was no real backup. You guys gotta find somebody.

i dont think tulane is bad...

i said this after the wake loss...tulane has an above average defense and a below average offense

a great offense will score on them, a decent defense will stop them.

not to degrade tulanes win but that didnt have the vibe of a good team beating another good team...

tulane had like 8 crucial drops and still scored 42...tulane was in obvious run situations and was still getting 6yds a run..

at the same time memphis qb struggled to complete 5 yd passes, at one point he missed a for sure 60yd td and all he had to do was hit a 20yd pass (The safety covering the wr had fell) and he over threw it....

I think I still like Tommy West suggestions for the program.

Sucks for Norvell, feel bad for the guy who stuck with the program.

Looks like the good guys picked a good week for a bye. Wouldn't be surprised to see some more upsets today.

Navy didn't "pick " our bye week this week, but we like having it before AF.

Memphis heard Tommy loud and clear. I mean, since that exit speech Memphis has: replaced it's AD, doubled the recruiting budget, more than doubled the HC salary, doubled the Asst Coach salary pool, and got the city to invest 32 million over 5 years at the Liberty Bowl.

Memphis listened to Tommy.

Still make a bowl on a down year - that's how you keep it going.
To that end, tighten up the D.
