Some of these guys have no idea what the ties are to half the bowls they are projecting. I know McMurphy has 2 or 3 AAC bowls without AAC teams.

For instance--he has the Indy bowl with Utah St vs Iowa St (thats an SEC vs ACC bowl with the AAC and CUSA as backups).

He has Frisco with BYU vs Akron

He has the Cure with W Mich vs Coastal Carolina

I guarantee we'd fill the Indy to play Iowa St before we'd send Houston 1000 miles to play Marshall in the erector set Boca Bowl.

Yup I kept track for a while just to see what "public perception" was but I have yet to find one that has the correct conferences using primary bowl tie ins, much less that fills with the secondary conference if the primary is projected with out enough teams to fill ties.

USA today was close and still have three wrong and had fill ins that had nothing to do with secondary ties or geographic/bowl desires.

Wait about 2-3 more weeks before paying any attention. At this point of the season, a Ouija board could give you better predictions than a lot of the ‘experts’. As attack said, some of them don’t even know which leagues are matched up with which bowls. They’re just throwing darts.

I'll guess 7-5 Memphis vs 7-5 Ark State at The Cure Bowl in Orlando.

That would actually be one of the more interesting (and intense) matchups among non-ranked teams.

BTW: Liberty U is the designated backup if they’re eligible and if either the Belt or the American cannot place a team in that particular bowl.

I see USF going to the Gasparilla Bowl vs. some 6-6 or 7-5 ACC team unless going to a NY6 Bowl.
