CCNY and NYU both not in d! anymore had more than 2 appearances in the tournament. They had more Final 4s than many D1 schools today.

Others:

Oklahoma City U. was a former power house in men's basketball in the old days. From the 1950s up to the 1980s, they appeared the most often. I am surprise that MVC did not grab them in the 1970s.

Lebanon Valley made 1 8 team tournament.

Hardin-Simmons Border Conference

Springfield made it to the 8 team.

Tufts

Loyola, New Orleans

Williams

West Texas A&M twice in Border Conference

Wayne State, Michigan MAC champ.
