Bryce Love: Why players should take the money.
Bryce love was one of the most dynamic players in college football last year. It seemed like every time he touched the ball he was going to score touchdown. Furthermore, he was almost guaranteed to be a early first round pick.
But he chose to stay in school for another year so he could finish school or something. In hindsight, this seems like it was an extremely foolish decision. He injured himself this year and a lot of people have seem to have even forgot he exist. The one-time Heisman candidate is now just some other guy.
I realize that getting an education is important. But it just seems crazy to me that some players and fans think that these guys can't just go back to school later or online.
Even if he obtains his doctorate degree, he will never make up the money that he lost by doing this.

Maybe he values finishing up school over leaving for the NFL? He'll be fine regardless.

Disagree. Love was likely to be a borderline first round/second round pick had he entered last year's draft, and that is still the expectation right now for 2019. He was by no means expected to be a high first-round pick because he does have some physical shortcomings in terms of height/size.
His ankle injury is of the "nagging" variety, it isn't anything that a month or two won't heal completely. No deep structural harm of the kind that would permanently lower his draft value.

running backs have the shortest career span in the NFL, and the average player that comes into the league flames out in less than 5 seasons. Getting a degree from one of the three best universities in the world is not a bad deal. He's thinking past the football career.

Take the money. You can finish your education later.
