AAC Annual Fall Meeting of Presidents/ADs
Historically occurs on the first Tuesday of November. See:

2016 meeting on Tuesday, Nov 1

2015 meeting on Tuesday, Nov 3

This year, the first Tuesday is November 6. I'm sure TV will be discussed.

The big question is whether a TV proposal will be voted on???

I hope all the AD's vote no to ESpin while using their middle fingers to do so.

So it's a vote to accept whatever number Aresco/ESPN reached or to go to the open market?

If true, could it be that the over the top venom being spewed by ESPN at the AAC lately is a sign that that they don't expect us to accept there offer? If not could it be that the American already knows that there's a better offer waiting and are prepared to weather the heat until February. Hmmm,,, just wondering. 05-stirthepot

Not going to be a vote at this meeting, other than perhaps some verbal guidance, at best. We are still months away from finalizing something with ESPN or anybody else.

Naw I don't think it's that low. I think if there's an offer on the table it's probably about 4-5 million for everything with a lot of espn+ coverage and no language regarding how they promote and portray us as a conference. I truly believe that Aresco and the school presidents know that they can do better than that on the open market. I think that it's impossible that the conference hasn't already received some preliminary figures from other bidders to use as a guide through these early talks with ESPN. I think ESPN would have to open up the check book to prevent the AAC from splitting up our content.

RE: AAC Annual Fall Meeting of Presidents/ADs
It all boils down to two things:

1) How much does ESPN value the AAC content
2) Are other providers willing to provide a competitive bid for the product.

IF ESPN values the content, they aren't going to let this get to an open bid. My guess is the AAC has hired consultants who have independently tested the waters with potential suitors for the conference come February. This gives the AAC an idea of what kind of they can expect in the open market. Likewise, ESPN will have conducted studies to see what the market is willing to endure as well. As I indicate, if ESPN wants to keep the product and there are indications there are suitors willing to play, ESPN is going to put up a competitive number to avoid getting in a bidding war. I think all things being equal the conference would like to stay with ESPN, but of course money talks and you know walks.

Just don't lump me into the $2.2M crowd, lol. I think we get at least $6M. Based on our ratings, you could make an arguable case that we're actually worth about $15-18M, but of course, that ain't happening, either.

I also think we will have a lot of Friday night slots, and a lot more games pushed down a level or 2 on ESPN.

I could see a some or all of the stuff we have on CBS-Sports potentially moving to ESPN-Plus if we signed an "all in" deal with ESPN.

RE: AAC Annual Fall Meeting of Presidents/ADs
Is there any sort of precedent for what a non-football member gets in these deals? Say 1/2 share; 2/3 share?

The old BE would have had some sort of a split like that, but really you guys split up at the very front edge of the modern TV money curve. The NBE (basketball-only, obviously) schools get $4M from the 2013 Fox Sports deal, so if WSU gets less than that (with WSU in the AAC being somewhat analogous) then the NBE ish talk will commence.

RE: AAC Annual Fall Meeting of Presidents/ADs
I saw the meeting agenda this past weekend when I was grilling out with Aresco and Pony94. I couldn't take a pic of the agenda without getting caught and so this is just a few things off of memory...

1. Tulsa's Gazebo: local community is protesting, saying the steeple on the thing violates Tulsa city ordinance
2. ECU: In or Out
3. Temple: Trying to get enough presidential votes to allow future home games to take place in a city park (will promise to provide 100 red and white lawn chairs as concession)
4. UCF: should they get more money than the rest of the league
5. Final ruling if Stooky is actually a BC troll or not

There were some other things, but these were the ones I can recall for now.

Back when UH and Boise were offered an invite by the Big East, the invitation documents indicated that for TV revenue, non-football members would receive 30% of a full all sports share.

RE: AAC Annual Fall Meeting of Presidents/ADs
I think they are talking about a realignment within the AAC.

New Divisional Alignment:

Dead-Weight Division
Tulsa
Tulane
Temple
ECU
UCONN

Load Bearing Division
UC: hoops and now fb coming back
UCF: fb and hoops coming on
USF: fb
UH: fb and hoops
Memphis: fb and hoops
SMU: hoops
Navy: army/navy game...I guess

Teams in the Load Bearing Division get all the TV money in the next TV deal.

Teams in the Dead-Weight Division pay to be here.
