Beamer helping out the ACC in committee meetings?
Joel Klatt seems to think so:

Kind of like Alvarez and the B1G the first few years of the CFP.

03-idea I think we have to go to an eight (8) team playoff. The eight (8) teams should be chosen in this order:

ACC Champion
Big 10 Champion
Big 12 Champion
PAC 12 Champion
SEC Champion
Highest ranked G5 Champion
Highest ranked non conference Champion
Second highest ranked non conference Champion

TBH, 20th-25th doesn't matter all that much.

And that part about "the ACC has its thumb on the Big Ten"... ridiculous!

(but I like the idea)

Agreed. But the two B1G squads that got left out that he believes should be in place of two ACC schools are MSU and Wisc, both of whom are 5-3 and lost to Northwestern (who is doing quite well this year so no shame) by double digits if I am recalling correctly. And NW (also 5-3) got beat by Duke at home by two TDs.

Plus both have questionable losses, one to Ariz State and the other to BYU so it's not as though they have been beat down by the upper echelon B1G teams either. As you say, it doesn't really matter and a case could be made either way, but I doubt Beamer had to shout down much opposition for the ACC teams over the B1G teams in this case. It was more like, okay, let's move on and get to the teams that really matter. 03-lmfao

Cheers,
Neil

Clemson is helping themselves.

BS narrative. Only the SEC has gotten special consideration.

Yes, Clemson doesn't need any help to be ranked in the top 4. They were referring to Syracuse, Virginia, Boston College and NC State being ranked in the CFP (NC State wasn't even ranked in the AP). Still much ado about nothing, IMO, just clarifying that it wasn't about Clemson.

I think the ACC Atlantic is actually this good to be honest. It's a top 3 division in cfb and it's getting it's due this year.
