I'm thinking this Rice team is very similar to our 2015-16 team when we had Marcus Evans as a freshman, and Egor Koulechov eligible as a sophomore transfer from ASU. We don't have any freshmen quite as good as Evans but otherwise, this team is similar in a lot of ways to that team (and they ended up with 7 conference wins).

I'm not talking smack, genuinely asking... you think you are better than 11th based on a 16 point loss tonight?

Same here, do you think you're still top 5 in the league after a st joe drubbing?

You guys lost by 15 to a Philly team and were picked 3rd, correct? We lost by 16 to another Philly team which also has a very good chance of making the NCAA tournament (like they did last year when they gave #1 seed Kansas a battle in the 1st round). Now, Penn did lose one of its best players in its 1st game to a season-ending injury, but they're still a decent squad.

I'm telling you, I've been watching Rice hoops for a long, long time. We're better than people think. If our freshmen get some confidence and improve a bit as the season goes on, watch out. You should be happy, it may help the CUSA RPI a bit - we won't beat UH or BYU, but maybe we'll upset someone else decent in NC play.

Just don't stink it up all OOC then figure it out and murder the conferences chances for multiple bids with random upsets late.

How'd you get OSU to play on your court?

Even with all our suck since 05, we still generally get at least one p5 to play us at home or at the uptown Arena.

Wow, way to go Charlotte!

I know from my own eyes that CUSA basketball is pretty good. Nice to see that translating to a big out of conference win!

Nice stat line tonight for bassey. 15 points, 9 rebounds, perfect from the line, and four blocks.

1. Unbelievable job by Charlotte tonight. I left my house for our game and you guys were down around 20 at halftime. While at our game my buddy next to me says “Charlotte won”. I said “whut????” Couldn’t believe it. Way to go.

2. Bassey is an incredible young man to watch. We’re really struggling with 2 point gods learning on the job. We got him very few touches for most of the first half. Yet he kept working and working. He has a great motor and I just see ZERO prima donna in him. Kid is the total package as far as hoops goes. Looks like a great teammate too.

Major props to Charlotte!

UNT wins it's second game in the Rainbow Classic over Portland 78-73. Tonight is the championship game against Hawaii.

If we continue to play like we did that night, then we'll be somewhere in the middle of the pack. I'm definitely not as optimistic as I was preseason after seeing two games with a signature scoring drought. We definitely have some things to figure out
