Btw, if NU ends up winning in Indy, Akron would join Miami as the only MAC teams to beat that season's Big Ten champ. That team was also Northwestern, in 1995 IIRC.

If Northwestern hadn’t blown a 28-7 lead to Miami that season, they would’ve been undefeated and ranked 2nd heading into the Rose Bowl - after 24 straight losing seasons.

Pat Fitzgerald was the captain of that team.

There was no marquee opponent. Wisconsin and Iowa have 4 losses. Purdue has 5. Northwestern has 4 but 2 are to Michigan and Notre Dame.

Its time we all realize that it doesn't matter who makes the playoffs this year. We're watching the greatest Alabama team of all time. No one's going to beat them. Its a race for 2nd. lol
