Hmmm. I guess it depends on how often you believe two members of a league have to play each other in order for things to “work”. I’ll say this, though: Georgia and LSU went 25 years (1953-’78) without playing in football. Georgia and Tennessee once went 31 years (1937-’68) without playing in football. The SEC seemed to survive that. Even now, Western Division and Eastern Division teams rarely play each other, except for the one “protected” cross-divisional game like Alabama/Tennessee and Auburn/Georgia.

Quote:The Rockies are a big dividing line and I seriously doubt at any time in the future a league will successfully stradle them and go east.
That could very well be true. Obviously, the money-angle would have to work out, or the whole concept is moot.

Lol how do you figure?

Enlighten us.

Lets assume we will get 8 mil a team as we are, Is Espn or Nbc really likely to pay more then 32 mil to add to those 4 schools? If money not bigger it is not worth adding.

More to the point, would they be willing to increase each team from 8MM to 10MM because of adding those 4? That would be an additional 64MM per year, not an additional 32MM.

No they won't... Only program capable in creating a buzz and force everyone's hand $$$ is BYU.

TV networks know BYU in the AAC will increase attendance, eyeballs $$$ significantly no one heavily pushing for this is beyond me.

AAC presidents need to get their thumbs out of their @55 and come up with a legitimate plan in how to entice BYU.

Where are you Mike Aresco?!?

BYU is not yet willing to let go of its dream to be nationally relevant as a football-Independent. This is Year 8 since they left the Mtn. West, and I’d honestly say the overall results since 2011 have been very mixed so far.

BYU has invested an enormous amount of money/effort into making Independence work in football. All the work they’ve put into BYUtv figures into the overall picture. They aren’t going to walk away from that unless they realize they simply have no choice.

If this expanded conference currently existed there would be three ranked teams this week; UCF, Cincinnati and Boise State. As I said on the first or second page, this conference would routinely have three or four and even five ranked teams in the top 25 on a weekly basis.

Utah State in the American would be 4-6; Boise would be 6-4. Y’all wouldn’t be ranked playing here.

Those two specific teams actually played pretty good defense, so I don't know about that.

No they play basketball offenses. Or just bad teams in general.

More importantly this conference already has three teams ranked regularly. We have had four at various times this year.

Is putting the ny6 bowl on lock down.

Multiple bids in both men and women's basketball.

Success in nearly every sport.

About to get a separation media deal.

No reason to add bad western teams.
