The bids did not include New Fox or Comcast and it is unclear if Disney will sell them as a unit or individually although it appears that the Yankees will exercise their option for the YES network, which is by far the most valuable.

Fox looks to be patient on the side lines and may scoop up the fsn's whole on the cheap. Comcast does not think that the regulators would allow them to pick up any in areas where they dominate the cable market and seems uninterested in those outside it's areas of influence.

This is looking more and more like an opportunity for a FAANG company to show up and walk away with it all.

I really dont see this as much of an opportunity for Aresco. These networks are largely about individual pro franchise rights in the teams home city. The coverage area for these individual networks are each pretty small. Yes, collectively they include quite a few people--but its pretty likely they will end up being sold piecemeal. If they are all mostly sold to one entity, then maybe they might be interested in a package of content they can use as filler to share across multiple networks in the AAC footprint---but I cant imagine they would be willing to pay much. This is more like something CUSA might want to consider. The exposure here would be too spotty and limited compared to networks like ESPN, NBC-Sports, TNT, and CBS-Sports Network.

The one entity that would be a big winner if they landed this package would be STADIUM. It would give them a cable presence in a bunch of major cities and give their STADIUM affiliate network a huge boost in visibility compared to its currently almost invisible cable presence.

Great one more thing Liberty can spend money on instead of the Braves. I wish they would sell the team already to someone that gives a damn about them.

I get what you are saying, but Liberty could do the same thing as stadium. Not sure that is the way it will work but this is the next domino to fall, it will have to be decided before the Feb exclusive period. Them breaking up opens third tier landing spots for school. Together they might be a secondary bidder or primary depending.

Something to keep an eye on at least to see what it does to the landscape. It may be there is nothing for the AAC to leverage or perhaps Aresco can find an advantage for exposure or money there.

Look for Sinclair to bid . After the merger with the Tribune Company was stopped by the FCC , SBGI will have the resources avaiable to purchase the Fox networks. Sinclair is the largest operator of local broadcast TV stations in America.
