RE: C-USA bowls
I'm gonna laugh my ass off if 6-5 USM gets dealt a bowl game against the best opponent AND payout...AGAIN. (i'll also laugh my ass off if we go 6-5 & don't get invited or if we lose to UTEP lol). However, IMO here's my personal hierarchy of bowl games if I controlled things:

Indy Bowl vs. Miami
B'Ham Bowl vs. Memphis
Bad Boy Bowl vs. USF
New Mexico Bowl vs. San Diego State
Cheribundi Boca Bowl vs. Temple
First Responders Bowl vs. BYU
Hawai'i Bowl vs. Hawai'i
NOLA Bowl vs. App State
Bahama Bowl vs. Toledo

RE: C-USA bowls
It's dicey, to say the least. If we (FAU) win, we are only 6-6 and that wasn't enough to go bowling in 2013. The only hope is that people may want to see Singletary and Kiffin. On the other hand, we do not really deserve a bowl game.

We don't deserve a bowl game either, but you still want to see your team play another game.

I'm hearing that the Dallas Bowl is on life support, and can't afford another down year like West Virginia and Utah produced last season. North Texas seems to be their first choice again. I have no idea who we would play, but can't see either the BIG10 or Big 12 sending a team this year. Playing BYU would bring out a nice 30,000+ North Texas fans.

Payout doesn't matter. We pool the money.

Not looking good for CUSA getting “extra” bowl spots as Tulane and Wake are up big as well as Virginia choking big time at Va Tech on Friday.

Coastal Carolina (5-6) at South Alabama (2-9) - CC lost
Florida St (5-6) host Florida (8-3)
Baylor (5-6) at Texas Tech (5-6)...winner is 72
Tulane (5-6) host Navy (3-8)
Wake (5-6) at Duke (7-4)
TCU (5-6) host Oklahoma St (6-5)
Wyoming (5-6) at New Mexico (3-8)
Purdue (5-6) at Indiana (5-6)....winner is 73
Maryland (5-6) at Penn St (8-3)
Minnesota (5-6) at Wisconsin (7-4)
Arizona (5-6) host Arizona St (6-5)
SMU (5-6) at Tulsa (2-9)
Tennessee (5-6) at Vanderbilt (5-6)...winner is 74
Southern Miss (5-6) at UTEP (1-10)
FAU (5-6) host Charlotte (4-7)
Kansas St (5-6) at Iowa St (6-4)
Colorado (5-6) at California (6-4)
USC (5-6) host Norte Dame (11-0)

Tulane is up 21-6 on Navy in the 3rd so there is likely number 76.

RE: C-USA bowls
I think we will have about 80 bowl eligible teams for 78 positions (did I have the number of positions right?)

So, if both FAU and USM become bowl-eligible, I think one of us will go. I have no clue which of the two it will be.

Agreed. A lot probably will be decided by location of the bowl. If it’s a Florida bowl I feel y’all have an advantage. Alabama or Louisiana might favor us. Texas or New Mexico is probably a toss up. Both of us have to win first though or it’s irrelevant. If too many other teams get eligible we could both be home. I like one of us though as long as the number of eligible teams stays around 81.

Florida St loses so total stays at 77 with 12 teams still in the hunt (the 3 games where 5 win teams are playing each other is included already)
