Which woman will get a HC job first?
Condoleeza Rice?
https://www.theguardian.com/sport/2018/n...-interview

Or Becky Hammon?

Becky Hammon’s come close on some college jobs. Could Condoleeza be the one to take down Saban if she doesn’t get the nfl gig?

Not Rice. She'd make a good organizational president, but she's not a coach. Rice has never coached any sport at any level

Even worse, she has never even played an organized team sport.

The only organized sport she played as a kid was figure skating. She took up tennis at age 18, and at age 50 she took up golf.

Rice's only qualification is that her Dad was a high school football coach. But that's like saying Mike Brown, son of legendary NFL coach Paul Brown, would be a good coach (Mike Brown has not won a single playoff game in 27 years as the Bengals' General Manager).

IMO, it would be a step down for Ms.Condoleeza Rice to be a coach. I would see her as more of an college president or chancellor. Now Becky Hammon I could see being a head coach.

Condoleeza would be good as an AD or President.

If she is actually interested in coaching, she should go the Joe Moglia route and become a volunteer somewhere and then try to catch on at a smaller school looking to make a splash.

I could see Rice as a Commissioner of a P5 conference. As a former Provost of Stanford, being a University AD is a big step down from her experiences. She once said she would enjoy being a NFL Commissioner. She is strong with academia and governance, but the coaching chatter is just some PR show.

I think Hammond will be the next coach of the Spurs.

If the NCAA meant anything, she'd have been their president by now.

It's a dumpster fire. Nobody with integrity wants the job.

The LFL already has female head coaches.

I just cant imagine that being a good idea for many schools. It sounds really progressive and all--but how many potential recruits will scratch her school off the list of serious options based just on the fact shes a female? If that percentage is more than a few percent---then hiring a female HC simply would not be a prudent move for any AD looking to give his program the best chance to win games.

I don’t think that would be an issue. I remember this once being pointed out by I think Lebron, when it was brought up regarding pat summit years ago, that for every kid who was turned off, there are twice as many who were raised by single mothers, who would be more than comfortable, if not more comfortable, who’s parents would be instantly intrigued.

Strange thread. I thought Dave Doeren was the first woman to coach college football.
