Rutgers losing a tough one on the road. They're slowly improving but these are the types of results one expects when rebuilding from the Rice/Jordan days. Michigan State bouncing back big after losing against the same team Rutgers just played.

Penn State with a massive upset win over Michigan. I only just learned of it now. That's how surprised I was. Epic Mind Blown

I won't ever cheer against my team and it's always great to beat Michigan but I hope this isn't justification to bring back Chambers as head coach. Barring some miracle, we'll miss the NCAA tournament again for all eight of his seasons. A replacement isn't guaranteed to be better but I would 100% like to at least attept an upgrade than sit on a proven mediocre coach.

We just pulled one off at NW last night. There is life in the RU MBB program.

Great win, Illinois! Ohio State really needed that victory.

Oh joy, Pat Chambers is coming back for his 9th season. Maybe he can make the NCAA tournament for the first time. Not holding my breath.

RE: 2018-19 Big Ten Basketball
So NCAA bracket is set. Big Ten got eight teams in, with Minnesota getting in through its performance in the tournament, while Indiana got bounced out. I wonder if not getting a #1 seed may work out best for the Big Ten. The ACC trio (UVa, UNC, Duke) would be under tremendous pressure to perform to their seedings, so may provide a real opportunity for any one else to push through.

Do you think Minnesota has the goods to be the dark horse pick?

I thought the seeding was pretty lame. As usual the ACC front runners don't have to play anyone decent until the Sweet Sixteen. I thought Michigan State was seeded too low, and that it was a major disservice to the Big 10 to have two other Big 10 schools in their regional bracket. There was room for 1 more Big 10 school out west without having to make that move. I felt the SEC seeding was about right but that the draws were much tougher and many of our schools are remote to their natural areas. But these issues have been present for some time now.

That East bracket Michigan State is in it's brutal. As much as I hate to say it but Duke got screwed in this bracket. North Carolina got one hell of a nice path ahead of them.

East and West brackets are the toughest, in my opinion.

RE: 2018-19 Big Ten Basketball
If I had a choice to pick only on team from some of the conferences with the best chance to reach the final 4 my list would be.

Big- Michigan (Wisconsin close 2nd)
ACC- North Carolina
Sec- Kentucky (Tennessee close 2nd)
Big 12- Texas Tech
Pac- no disrespect but I can't see a team this year getting that far.
Big East- Villanova

Of course Gonzaga is good.
Other teams I like are Murray State and Cincinnati.

Teams I dont think will do well are Virginia and Purdue. Just have a bad feeling about these 2.

Big Ten got 7 of the 8 through in the first round. Only blemish was Wisconsin being upset by Oregon.

The Wisconsin loss stings but Minnesota, Ohio State, and Iowa upset higher seeds. Great showing this far. Too bad there is a matchup between two conference opponents this round but at least one is guaranteed to advance.

Best of luck to TTUN, Michigan State and Purdue the rest of the way in the tournament.
I thought the BIG teams did ok this year. Other than Wisconsin, lost games they were expected to.
ACC is killing it this year!
SEC is really solid too.

looking forward to the sweet 16. A lot of very intriguing matchups!

Purdue moves on to the Elite 8 but Meatchicken is getting trounced by Texas Tech. Is Texas Tech the real dark horse of the tournament?
