If Charlotte couldn't be there I'm glad to see UAB get it. We've been conference mates off and out for decades and it's awesome to see all the pain you guys went through 4 years ago get nearly totally erased today.

I recall a whole lotta posters at the HerdFans.com board wishing UAB would just not even try to start the program over again. Some of us tried to impress on them how hypocritical a notion that was, given our own history with the plane crash.

Hopefully, those guys are today stepping up and confessing how very wrong they were, if not on your boards, at least on that board.

First of all, congrats to UAB on the championship. With that said, remember me complaining about the unfair recruiting advantages the the Blazers were given?...You are now seeing the results. I know you guys were giving the shaft by your own president and UAT, but after awhile you will see that I was and am still right. Congrats again Blazers

True, but we've had a couple of good recruiting classes for normal freshmen, and we'll be coming off of a conference championship with playing time available when we go for juco's to fill any immediate needs. We are unlikely to be as good (losing four of five OL starters for example) but we'll keep building.

We'll be ok, and if we're not as good, well, we'll still have a program. Given the bottom we hit, we have a new perspective.

I hope this championship eases the pain from the shut-down.MUCH, MUCH respect to UAB!!

Spencer Brown still has 2 more years if play time. We'll be fine.

Not all 35 of those players even saw the field this year. That number is probably closer to 28 players in the 2 deep
