RE: 2018 Football AAC Coaching Salaries per USA Today
USF now has the highest salary pool in AAC. The reason it was low last year was due to the Texas buyouts (Texas was not only paying Strong's salary, but also that of most of the assistant coaches that Strong brought from Texas). That ends at the end of this year.

https://www.tampabay.com/sports/usf-bull...-bargains/

Strong's annual compensation from USF jumps to $2.5 million in 2019 -- after Texas' financial obligation to him ends -- and increases by $100,000 each of the final two years.

Similarly, Strong's salary pool for his assistants begins modestly, at $1.66 million in 2017, but grows to $3.4 million by the contract's final year. Former coach Willie Taggart's staff salary pool was $2.5 million this past season, but maxed out at $2.9 million in 2020, according to the contract he signed last December.

Coach Strong's Assistant coach salary pool straight from contract. Sorry Memphis fans, yours are not the highest as of Jan 1. Strong's contract is attached, and it lists the assistant coach salary pool in para. 6. On Jan 1, USF will have FAR and AWAY the largest assistant coaches salary pool.

2017 - 1.66M (due to Texas buyouts).
2018 - 2.25M (still due to Texas buyouts).
2019 - 3.4M
2020 - 3.4M
2021 - 3.4M

Is it just me or is it really that strange that the the two USF fans that posted above me seem to be bragging about how much they will be paying Charlie Strong (a coach that half there fan base wants fired)?

Cool guys, the rest of us will just have to get by with paying better coaches less money...

Lol I was thinking the same thing. UCF and Cinci both have larger football budgets, pay their coaches less, and get better results on the field. It’s always amazing to me that USF somehow got into the Big East with how poorly that program is managed.

Not bragging just setting the record straight. USFs assistant coach pool is 3.4m as of Jan 1, according to Strong’s contract.
