Are you saying that a coach who makes it to the semifinals two consecutive years should not be extended because he can’t consistently beat the best program in the history of FCS? Keep in mind SDSU is the only team in recent history besides JMU to win a game in the Fargo Dome.

You don’t think his performance warrants an extension?

They think he’s a coach that can’t win the game that matters most. I’m simply acknowledging the accuracy of that.

JMU fans would sour on Houston too if we were just a consistent #2 in the caa.

JMU soured on Lefty for that very reason...and then look what happened to JMU MBB after Lefty was let go. Lesson is be careful what you wish for...I think SDSU fans are lucky their HC was renewed.

Yep, don’t let the perfect be the enemy of the good.

UVA fans soured on Walsh and look what happened to them as well. SDSU fans should be very happy with their coach. They are idiots if they are not.

Yep. I recall about 11 years or so ago one of the most delusional fanbases on Earth wanted Phil Fulmer out the door because they had grown tired of winning "only" 9 or 10 games a season. A little over a decade and now 4 head coaches later, they celebrate winning any SEC game like they've won the World Series and Vanderbilt is kicking their assets.

I’m listening to the hero sports podcast and Sam had an interesting point about ndsu.

Apparently in 2013 when Craig Bohl took the Wyoming job, he attempted to flip Easton stick with a late scholarship offer. That means that every championship QB for the bison through this year was a Craig Bohl recruit. Kleiman may have “closed the deal” on Stick after it was already late in the process, but the majority of his recruiting was while Bohl was still with NDSU.

The starting QB next year is likely to be the first “post-Bohl” QB. It’ll be interesting to see what depth at the position Kleiman established.

I'm interested to see if the Iowa State transfer wins the starting job. I don't think it is a guarantee that he will.

Ratings were down significantly for this year's championship game.

Approximately 1.004 million people watched for 0.64 share. That was down from last year's audience of 1.515 million.

The FCS National Championship got better ratings than the Camellia, New Mexico, and Bahamas Bowl games.

The title game was also on ESPN2 and not ESPN like those bowl games likely were.

It's remarkable the differences in average between games on the flagship and on the deuce. That said, ESPN is never going to put the title game on the flagship because it doesn't have to.
