RE: Texas High School Championship Attendance
I didn't get to watch much of the state championship games, but I saw the final drive of North Shore-Duncanville. What an incredible ending.

I have not been to the state championship games since the UIL moved them to a single-site event. They hit a home run when they did so. The event has been best supported when held at Jerry World.

In the past, the games involving local teams drew the best. I thought it was interesting that the 3:00 game between Longview and Beaumont West Brook drew the best attendance, even though neither school was local. Longview is 2 hours away, but is very well supported, and had not won a state championship in 81 years.

The Longview-West Brook game had the fourth-highest attendance in state history. The North Shore-Duncanville game was not far behind. And, the Class 5A Division I game involving Highland Park drew over 28,000.
