I wonder if he sensed something while they were getting absolutely murdered by Wisconsin the other night.

Kiffin has been floated as a candidate... for whatever THAT'S worth... as well as Dino Babers, which might be a slam dunk hire...

Babers would fit Miami to a T IMO.

..yep... will be interesting to see how Cuse 'bellies up to the bar' with sweeting his deal... and it's STILL hard to remember for my old gray self that Cuse and the U are in the same conference now... 03-drunk ...so that would make for some interesting future games if the U snags him...

...he's being floated too, of course... I think he has it rolling pretty well at O right now, but if he DID leave, that would really start to give Oregon a bit of a 'complex'... and I'm a big UO fan... I wouldn't be overly surprised if he DID get back to Miami, tho. I figure the list for the U is a VERY short one, at this stage of the season...

I am not that surprised. From the start of the season, things seemed "off" and it seemed they peaked last season. The offense was a mess, they were having discipline issues, and then your best assistant bolts. If he didn't leave now, he would've retired 12 months from now.

Overall, he should have taken at least one year away from coaching.

With a returning NFL QB, top 5 recruiting class (including #1 player) and Nike money, it'd have to be because he really, really loves Miami.

Didn't Cuse just sign him to a huge extension? The U could pony up the buyout money but it'd be tougher to land him at this point.

The U was off this whole year, their D was the only thing keeping them afloat. With Diaz now gone it could've really spelled trouble for the team, better to leave now on a meh note than be at the helm for everything falling apart. At least he brought some swagger back to the program so it has momentum for the next hire, hard to believe they were an ACC title game win from the CFP last season.

Not sure the Rock will take the job. There are talks that he is thinking of running for President against Trump.

If the old guy loses, he'll bring in Mike Leach since he lobbied for Leach during the searches which hired Randy Shannon and Al Golden.
