Either way, first time UCF as an at-large ever... I’ll take it. Awesome to finally see the Knights involved, I’ve been following since the TAAC days (became the ASun).

still have uc and if you beat them you get them twice in the next 2 weeks ...6seed ..maybe 5 still on the table

RE: NCAA Tournament Seed Watch Thread
Big game tonight in Orlando. Hope we as a League represent the AAC well with good basketball as was the case in Houston a few days ago and also this coming weekend with UH and UC in Cincinnati.

Every year about this time, I find myself checking bracket prediction sites and it seems as if every time there is mention of this season having a soft bubble. I don’t remember the last time there was a firm or hard bubble, if those terms have actually ever been used. Is there a scenario where the League could get five teams in? Assuming Memphis wins the Tourney next week, let’s say.

boy....UCF as a 10 is not bad. I'd acturally rather see them a 12 because i think they would take out an unsuspecting 5.

Either way, I think UCF could make a little splash.

I expect UH to at least get to the S16 this year.

I figure UC and Temple play one game and go home.

It's amazing I keep having to correct people on this. We are good for one win and to make it to the Round of 32, THEN we go home. We usually aren't the one and done type.

As Rothstein would say, more consistent than A Few Good Men on a rainy Sunday.

update from bracketville-
12 Houston -lowest 3 seed
22 Cincinnati- 6 seed
35 UCF- 9 seed
47 Temple(2nd team in)- 12 seed, first four
78 Memphis(10th team out)

will be interesting with tonight's Cincy/UCF game. Can Cincy with a win move up to a 5 seed? Can UCF with a win move up to an 8 or even better a 7 seed?

RE: NCAA Tournament Seed Watch Thread
so this is from NBC Sports- Rob Dauster- who is normally not that pro AAC...
UCF (NET: 28, SOS: 59): The Knights beat Cincinnati (21) in Orlando on Thursday night, and with that they are going dancing. UCF has two Q1 wins — including at Houston (6) — and now sit at 8-5 against Q1 and Q2 with just one bad loss. The question at this point is whether they can play themselves out of the 8-9 game.
TEMPLE (NET: 57, SOS: 78): The Owls picked up a Q2 win on Thursday, knocking off UConn in Hartford. Temple has just two Q1 wins this year, and one of them is a win at Missouri (73). Their home win over Houston (6) is going to have legs, and beating UCF (28) on Saturday sure would help them out. That might be enough to get them out of the play-in game in they avoid a bad loss early in the AAC tournament.

So with Temple it seems like if they win vs UCF at home on Saturday- they're pretty much in- and even out of Dayton. Only way that wouldn't happen would be if Tulane beats Memphis in 1st round of the AAC tourney.....

Tulane couldn’t beat Memphis even if the MonStars stole their talent. The only question is whether TU covers what is likely to be a 14.5 pt spread.

UCF and UC are 7 seeds. UC is no worse than a six if they win on Sunday. I think Temple gets a bid if they beat UCF and pick another one in the tournament.

gonna be a tall order...pun intended.

UCF is really playing well and has been for over a month.

It's a home game and you would think Temple would be pretty pumped up for it. UCF might be a bit more relaxed due to the two big wins and being locked into the tourney.

Right now, UCF is projected in the 8/9 game. Might be best for EVERYONE if Temple beats UCF. Temple gets locked in, and UCF could fall to a 10 seed. That would get them out of that dreaded 8/9.

agreed

10 is better than 8/9

Heck, I'd rather be a 11 or 12. Those 11 and 12's win all the time and their second round opponent is also beatable vs the 1 seed.

8/9 is THE WORST...tough first game and if you win, you are rewarded with the 1 seed. Pass

Here's the problem with that theory. UCF going into last night was #35. So 2nd lowest 9 seed. They're probably up after yesterday to #29 or so- the highest 8 seed. A loss to Temple and they would fall- but only by 2-3 spots. Still in that 8 range. Meanwhile with a win, they'd move up to a 7 seed and out of the mix that way..

Overall, having the extra bid for Temple is the biggest thing for the conference IMO. Saying 4 bids vs 3 is huge.

I don't disagree. Just saying there won't be any benefit for UCF outside of that- they won't fall to a 10 seed.

If they lose to Temple, then lose their first game to Memphis in the AAC tourney, they might. And that's also a realistic scenario.

That could be the first steps to a 5th bid :)
